UEFA Champions League/Europa League 21/22/23 February *** Spoilers ***

You really want rid of him so soon?

Personally, yeah. He's been at it for 6-8 months. And Chelsea just look really really bad. Slow, dopey, making mistakes, no passion. And although you could argue they were heading that way before AVB, it seems to have become a feature.

That and you have bizarre player choices. Bosingwa, for example. Playing Sturridge out of position. Trying to play Torres in a manner that he clearly can't do. Oh, and playing Mikel. Buying Lukaku and letting him sit in the bench or in the reserves all year.

You can't expect instant results. But how long do you give? We're out of the league title, struggling to qualify for next years CL, at this rate we'll be out of it this year too.

Should stick with AVB he is trying to do stuff other coaches couldn't and make the transition.
I can only imagine how difficult that dressing room is with certain players basically dicating things and I imagine doing anything to get rid of someone they don't like.
Tough job but someone has to do this and I hope AVB can do it and is given the time to do so, it's not his team he is trying to make it his and will take time no matter who goes there, they will still have to do the same thing.
Plus some of these things aren't even down to him, it's the players. Ivanovic, Luiz and Cahil are hardly playing great there's only so much he can do, rest is down to them.

Also regarding his choices, I imagine that is also down to proving he will not bow to player pressure and let them do what they want. I expect Lampard, Drogba, Terry & Cole are all ***** and think they rule the roost.

We should stick with AVB. We do need to transition and our form will suffer slightly in the mean time. We need some stability at chelsea.

I suppose that's a fair assessment.

I think the issue is that you've still got Mourinho's old team that has been boosted by random Abramovich signings.

AVB needs (or needed) the opportunity to bring in his own players, not an entire team of course but more than just a couple of players.

but a lot of players don't like him and the way he handled anelka was embarassing and the other player (who's name escapes me right now) essentially told them both they had no place there anymore and cannot train with the first team.

then there's the senior players who made chelsea so succesful who are wise to the fact that they are being phased out. that's fine but their replacements aren't performing. cole, cech, drogba, essien, lampard, malouda even maybe terry were real forces a couple of seasons ago, now they're bit-part players (terry the possible exclusion) you can't treat players like that. ok they're on big contracts and off an age where they're looking to wind it down a bit but AVB has gone about it the wrong way. he should be listening to those players for advice, he's younger than some of them!

You are right of course, a rather big transition isn't going to happen without some rocky roads. And yeah, if he does stay in the summer, he HAS to spend.

We'll see how things go. But it's difficult as a Chelsea supporter watching us play like this.

Yeah the defence was poor but scoring only 1 goal against their shakey defence (and a lucky goal at that) is not good enough. Drogba poor, malouda shocking as per usual. Will take a miracle to go through now. :(
