Sure, that's all perfectly valid, and in the cold light of day it's worth considering. But this isn't the cold light of day. This is a much needed win, to relieve the horrendous pressure that's been on the side for weeks now. 30 mins after said victory is not the time to come in and **** on our parade. Especially when you claim to be a fan of the team.I can see DM's point and to be honest I usually see eye to eye with him regardless of the comments by others.
Summary of what he is trying to say: It will take more 1 game to prove that things aren't that bad but there are massive gaps in the squad. That is plain to see by everyone. It wasn't a convincing win regardless of the score and Arsenal were very lucky.
Just want to say....Chesney you absolute beauty...had that penalty gone in then who knows what might have happened...hopefully our goalkeeping problems of the past are just that...we may very well have a gk who could become world class...

As SPW said, sometimes, a win is just a win.![]()
It wasn't the best Arsenal performance ever nor was it the most convincing win that you'll ever see but it was a win - let's try and look on the positive side for a second, the team is in the group stages of the Champions League and they've made it that far at least for 14 straight years. So Arsenal rode their luck tonight, that's true but again lets not lose sight of the fact that it was a win - sometimes you've just got to take them however they come.
Maybe I'm just too easily pleased though, I'm a Hearts fan so if we escape with anything less than a tanking from Spurs tomorrow I'm considering it a minor victory of sorts.

Very true. Can't argue the team's record.
Indeed.
I reckon Wenger will sign 2 players...1 fairly established and another player who isn't entirely proven but has 'potential'.

What did DM say when Arsenal beat Barcelona, anything positive? I can't remember.
I wasn't pleased with the first half performance, second half we were much better. I wasn't expecting us to go and thrash them, their a decent team and were easily the most difficult opponent we could have asked to be matched against for the qualifying round. They've got some real attacking threats in their side and their goalkeeper was superb for the most part so no, they weren't a poor team by any stretch of the imagination. A poor team would be any one of the number of Eastern European sides that we could have been matched against.
People need to remember that we're yet again going through a transitionary period, we've just lost our best player and another player who while he wasn't great, was still quite good on his day and added a little bit of attacking spark so of course we're going to struggle for a few games. Not to mention the couple of injuries we have as well as the suspensions. On the back of losing Cesc and Nasri so late in the window I'll be pleased with a top four league finish and progression to the latter stages of the Champions League.
Certain fans want us to do the quadruple or something and it's just not feasible at all. Yeah Wenger makes mistakes, but show me a manager who doesn't make mistakes. Yes we've got some utter rubbish in the squad, but the vast majority of them are young players, they're going to make mistakes and not perform in every game, and not always take every chance their given to impress but that's the way Wenger does his business. We buy young players and we nurture them and bring them through, back the manager and his plan and give a little bit of support to the club once in a while eh.
So how's looking forward to seeing Spurs' reserves play Hearts' reserves tonight in an already decided tie in a meaningless cup?
