UEFA Champions League/Europa League 24/25/26 February *** Spoilers ***

Arsenal are god damned pathetic, the only thing I don't get is how Neville couldn't see this coming, pundit, lol, idiot more like.

Arsenal have been thrashed at this stage, completely thrashed with shocking performances against yes some good teams, but also Milan. We may have won games recently but none of them have been really important. We often have a run then we lose the second we come up against a genuinely important game.

Pathetic all around AND terrible, truly terrible from the non learning Wenger.

What do we know about Wenger, what have we always known. Regardless of how well other players are playing, his favourites will get games. Welbeck has been shocking all season, gets a start anyway. Rosicky got games out of everyone else being injured and was by a margin our best creative midfielder... gets dropped when other people who have been bad come back from injury. Rosicky has been MUCH better than Ozil, better than Welbeck, better than Ox, better than Ramsey, better than almost everyone yet gets dropped for the big game when his touch and class is what we needed.

Coquelin wasn't great but wasn't near the worst player on the pitch, I'd probably say he was Arsenal's second best player however if he'd played 3 years of games for Arsenal, 20-30 starts a year and where would he be today rather than having only a handful of starts for Arsenal?

We've needed a Kondogbia(sp?) for years, a STRONG, TALL, POWERFUL player. Instead we spend 42mil on Ozil, a player we didn't at all need even if he was the 42mil player people thought he was, he never was. He was still the wrong type of player we needed to add to the team. Slight, weak ass, only good not under pressure creative mids we had by the bucketful. Genuinely powerful strong physical midfielders we still have none and we desperately needed. Why didn't we offer Pogba 70k a week to join us. Then to add to Ozil next year we bought another midget however good he is for his size and we bought Welbeck, could call him physical but not at all a footballer, inept idiot. Also tonight Welbeck was second to every challenge, won nothing, got beaten to almost every single header, every single through ball, every ball down the wing, everything, he won nothing... and he's the physical player we bought.

This performance was 100% expected. Even this run of form was mostly without Ozil. He was absolutely dire before he got injured and he's got a couple very lucky goals but been utterly hopeless in 90% of every game he's played this year, yet he starts.

Same old Arsenal, same Wenger, same tactical ineptitude, same poor selections.

Even the substitutions, Ozil wasn't the first player off somehow, and somehow it wasn't at half time or maybe 30 minutes into the game. Why anyone expects performances other than these in the same situation I don't know, this is Arsenal, this has been Arsenal for 8 years. The reason I can't get happy about some 5-0 beating of Norwich anymore is I know it's meaningless, we'll still fail to show up to these games every damn time. We even failed to show up for and pretty much deserved to lose the FA cup final against a woeful woeful team. Fluking that wasn't a sign of change, it was extreme luck.

We won't improve till Wenger goes. We may however go through this round. Monaco are no where near as good as a Bayern of Barca, Arsenal have a habit of getting thrashed THEN and ONLY THEN playing like the pressure is off. We might play more freely, get a goal and make it a close game... again as we've done every year.

I get told every time that I'm wrong about getting thrashed in the first leg at this stage but going close in the second leg. But it's because when the pressure is on we're absolutely dire. We went down in the FA cup and looked awful then only improved after the game effectively felt all but gone.

Awful night for Arsenal.
Can already see what will happen as it does every year. We'll put in a great away performance and no doubt win 2-1 or something......just short as it is every year. :(

Wenger didn't see the performance coming.... because we do this every single year in almost every single big important game when the pressure is really on. Also says he knew exactly what Monaco would do, absorb pressure and catch you on the break. Well aside from the fact their counter attacks were the slowest I've seen from any side in all of history(well till berbatov went off)... despite knowing their plan Mert was standing on the half way line and with one player in the Arsenal half he stepped up to make a tackle when there was more support for the Arsenal defence running back than attacking players running at goal.

Knew the problem, didn't just tell cb's to stay back and cover for it. Same crap over and over again. I know what they'll do but I won't actually keep that in mind when setting up tactically for the game.

EDIT:- lol, the invincibles thing is on now. I think they thought it would be after a routine victory against Monaco. Rubs it in, a documentary about a team that actually knew how to play under pressure.. and has never been able to since. Because that potential invincibles thing followed them all season long every single game had more pressure on it than at any time since. Even a simple game against whoever was bottom at the time became.... we can't lose this run and there was even more pressure added to the games at the top of the table. That team coped with significant pressure from pretty early on in the season like it did with Chelsea(but then went away for them).

I still fundamentally believe Arsenal and Wenger has never been the same since losing the unbeaten run. In the 2-3 years before that on any given day we could beat anyone in the world. Since pretty soon after that loss to Utd I haven't felt that way at all.

In all honesty, probably be best to miss out on Champs league next year, completely get a rebuild going. If 4th spot is keeping everyone comfortable, then it's more of a curse.

City were SHOCKING in the first half and Fernando continued to be horrendous in the second half against us. They are pretty much a second half team these days, like against barca. They were by far the better team against us in the second half but were chasing the game, left gaps at the back and had Fernando covering... a player who makes Yaya look like the fittest player ever in comparison.

They were dire against Barca in the first half and dire against us in the first half. Vastly improved in both games in the second half, to the point they were better than us but only to the point they were less bad against Barca. They had double the position almost, more shots on and off target, but Aguero wasn't in form yet post injury.

Then lets not forget that Monreal pretty much threw himself to the floor for the penalty which let Arsenal sit back for a huge portion of the rest of the game. It was miles from a good performance from us.

We need Wenger gone, so many players coast. There was an interview in which Ozil said along the lines of "I'm the world champion, I see no need to improve" in regards to his turgid performances for Arsenal for the previous 6 months. Why would he see the need to improve, no matter how badly he plays, he starts when fit. Same goes for a huge portion of the squad.

Ox occasionally gets those kinds of goals and I mean VERY occasionally but his woeful giving the ball away and costing us goals happens a lot more often. He was starting when completely undeserved but only because other better favourites of Wenger were fit. Ox needed dropping when he was having a run of games because he was terrible. Ozil needed dropping multiple times since 3 months after he joined Arsenal when he stopped what little effort he was putting in.

A new manager would likely put the fear of god into many of the lazy stupid players we currently have but would also do a better job of moving on those we don't need and bringing in what we do need.

250mil we've spent in 4 seasons and the closest we've come to a defensive midfielder or physical player is Arteta and Flamini... we've spent more on CRAP left backs when he starts Gibbs(who sucks) anyway, than a position we had effectively no one to fill. Flamini was a sicknote who was washed up and only marginally useful, the fact that he improved us in central mid is a pretty scathing criticism of Arteta's effectiveness. Even then it's more of a criticism of Wenger because Arteta was always really a creative attacking midfielder, was absurd to buy him to cover holding midfield roles in the first place.

A new manager would improve the existing squad, change the mentality, actually drop players who played like crap or constantly backed out of tackles, showed no effort on the pitch and would likely highlight the biggest changes required and ATTEMPT to fix them, you might buy the wrong player, it's better than ignoring the problem entirely.

Honest to god the only time I saw Ozil even show a hint of caring was when he kicked the ball out accidentally, didn't get the call given(incorrectly) his way and he slammed the ball down and got a yellow card. He didn't get that fired up when we conceded, or when he had to tackle or fight to stay on his feet, just over a god damned throw in after the game was over anyway.

Got a story to tell you.

When teh 3rd goal went in a Monaco fan jumped in joy and some muppet so called arsenal fan must have hit him on the head telling him to shut the **** up.

Me and the proper arsenal fans started arguing and having a go at that stupid arsenal fan telling him its people like u who make us look bad and was backing the monaco fan.

We then shook hands with the monaco fan saying well played mate and he to said same and that he was happy with his team performances.
