UEFA Champions League/Europa League 3/4/5 May *** Spoilers ***

Don't know what has man utd more worried for the final, playing a better team or playing a team that gets more doggy calls in their favour than utd:)

Real gave Barca too much respect last night imo bit like Shalke did to Utd. I don't support Utd but would like to see them win it, although their record at the new Wembley Stadium isn't too hot.

I don't think anyone could say we get ref calls in our favour in the CL, we've had some appalling decisions against us in the last few years.

I don't post on the footballing forum, am not a true fan and I'm pretty sure I'll get heavily criticised, but I'd definitely agree with Greenlizard0.

In MOST of the Barcelona games I've seen in the CL I get the impression that when they cannot find a way to break down a parked team they resort to horrendous diving/simulation in order to get an opposition player carded / sent off. They also rarely seem to be on the negative side of bad decisions (admittedly don't watch them all for this exact reason). The matches against Chelsea, Inter, both legs of this match and Copa del ray (and others I don't remember off hand) are the reasons I hate find myself disliking Barca and rooting for whatever team face them.

How can people say this farcical play is justified and that the "right team won" because they play prettier football when the opposition is just parking the bus, playing "anti-football" (not necessarily accusing people on this forum, but people in general.) I'd say simulation is the thing I hate most of all in football. I'd rather see a defensive game than one full of, in my view, cheats.

Sure, real were fouling (I don't think they were all cynical), but you have to remember that they have just had a goal disallowed (the fouling got a LOT worse after this) and some very questionable decisions from the previous game. Even if the goal wasn't given, to give the free kick the other way ridiculous. Also, those that care to remember back the fouls were pretty even in the prior leg.

However, saying that, Ade (and questionably others) shouldn't have been on the pitch by the end either match.

Flame on.

TLDR: Diving/simulation (and poor refereeing decisions as a result of this/in general) is hands down the worst aspect of football at the moment and ruins what could be promising games!

the invincibles of arsenal were a better team overall then this barcelona side, so was the manchester united team who won the treble.

Both those teams diddnt dive and play act like idiots to achieve success. they played raw fair football

Aye forgot Mr Ferguson was knighted before the King was even born.

edit: didn't fergie get one coz he was buddies with someone anyways?
Mandelson supposedly brought up the idea of giving him knighthood with his wife in the stands of the Nou Camp after the Champions League final 1999. :p

I agree with alphareh la liga is very entertaining full of attacking teams who don't play for a 1-0.

The clasicos have got worse but for last few years real have done nowt bit kick 7 shades out of Barcelona. I remember one of the first games pep was in charge for think it was the 6-2? 2 or 3 players booked inside 20muns for kicking lumps out of messi. They always set out with the same plan.

same goes for many teams who face arsenal. thats how it all began tbh. 6+ years ago when yours truelly, fat sam and bolton deployed a "kick the crap out of arsenal" tactics on us.

Would you agree that that the kicking style that you say, adds to the increase in players going down easily? (to clarify a dive is the opposite of going down easliy.)

It's so annoying to watch when they do over act like Masch/Busquets/Pedro/Alves do and I am not trying to justify that at all because it is horrible to watch and not needed at all, I do wonder don't they feel a bit daft for doing it?
I couldn't imagine playing football and doing it, would just feel.... wrong? I would feel a complete and utter tit lol

On the other hand when a team sets out to "frustrate" which basically means that in Jose terms I would be so annoyed by it, would wind me up something chronic. Which I suppose is his idea but doing such things you are asking for trouble.

There are ways to win games and that is not it!

Been reading few news sites and it seems to be rubbing off on all his players, the constant bemoaning of poor decisions etc.. "we were cheated" attitude. Fact of the matter is he got his tactics wrong in the first place and doesn't seem to know or have the confidence in his team to let them play any other way.
