UEFA Champions League/Europa League 5/6/7 April *** Spoilers ***

UEFA dont give bans for ref criticism do they ?

I wouldn't have thought so. The FA seem to think that football is very similar to tiddlywinks and that it should be good clean fun for all ages, FIFA seem to realise that when something like the champions league is at stake, managers might be annoyed by a bad decision.

Had he any form, I would agree with you. Had it been any other match, I would agree with you. But you know what they say, you field your best 11 when the match is this important. My best chelsea 11 at this point in time, would be Anelka and Drogba, not Torres. I'd give Torres the league games to continue trying to gel, but in a quarter final of the CL, against Utd, I'd be fielding Drogba and Anelka as it stands at the moment.

I mean its not just a matter of Torres and goalscoring, its also what else he currently offers. How many assists has he done since arriving? How many has Anelka got in recent games and Drogba? Add into that the Anelka goals and Drogba goals over the past dozen games and for me it would be a no-brainer to start with them two.

Oh I agree, but I think it's a doubled edged sword, High profile game 50 million pound striker has to start. I think Chelsea (as many other clubs) would benefit from a very big firesale in the summer.

Teams need to start rebuilding after this season, it's been the worst for a few years for a very good reason.

I'd be seriously annoyed if I was Anelka as well, I know it's a big money signing but like you say, managers should pick the best eleven. Anelka would be in that starting team over Torres.

Benfica ripping through PSV. Honestly thought that they'd put more of a fight. I'm guessing they only really dominate their own league atm but they're having a stutter towards the end of the season.

Benfica & Villareal would make a good final.

3-1 Benfica now, away goal gives some slim hope for PSV. Really enjoyed the match, i am surprised.

Villareal 5-0, Porto 4-1. Think they're through. The only one up for grabs is Kiev/Braga and by definition that makes it advantage all three Portugese sides.

Love watching Cazorla play, and Villareal too, one of the most watchable teams around. They could easily win the cup this season

Anybody really looking forward to Schalke v Inter? It should be pretty good, Inter need to go balls out attack, I do hope Schalke hit them on a the break a few times, can't stand Leonardo I think he's a tit.
