UEFA Champions League/Europa League 7/8/9 May *** Spoilers ***

He may well say overwise but de Jong's already off to Barca and VDS himself has said that de Ligt will be leaving in the summer too. Expecting another 1 or 2 to leave is hardly unlikely I'd say. Ajax may not want them to leave but you try persuading Ziyech, Neres and de Beek to stay when they've seen their 2 best players leave and are receiving offers for PL clubs that will quadruple their wages. It's going to be a Monaco situation all over again.

Something does need to be done as like before with Monaco the team will get ripped apart. Poorer teams just stand no chance of growing as a club if they are successful.

I can't see Kane scoring the second goal like Moura, that was sublime control.

If that was Messi, the world's footie fans would be raving about it.

Spurs need to fit them both in.

L'Equipe rated Moura 10/10 for his performance last night, that's only the 10th time they have ever given a 100% rating since the publication was formed in 1946!

Ajax fans count-down the final 5 minutes of extra time! Dang, football can be so cruel :-/

What would make some of these players stay? Just higher wages?

Monaco by the way aint that poor. I think they are bankrolled by oil money as well are they not?

More transfer restrictions. Not being able to gut a team etc. There needs to be a cap at some point because it is going to ruin football. Think of what happened with Nottingham Forest in the 80's. Virtually impossible to do something like that now.

The sad reality is for Ajax that this was their only chance to get a European Cup for over 20 years and will have to rebuild all over again next season when the rich clubs take their pickings.

How the hell do you do that?

Stop a club selling more than X players in any given window?

Ajax don't *have* to sell anyone. The players are under contract.

Predictions for tonight? Arsenal and Chelsea both losing at half time to win it in the second half. :p

Contracts aren't that useful when players really want out.

Well yeah i get that and it can often be the best option to sell them before they become a bad egg. I was more addressing the post about imposing transfer restrictions to stop clubs selling players on.

Amazing last few nights. For some reason I decided to jump the sofa last night and pulled my upper calf in the process which is a bugger as I've a run next week I've been training for. I can't believe I was asking Moura to be substituted. :o.

How on earth can you loose to bottom half Bournemouth one day, then a few days later reach the UCL final..

Waiting for ticket details now.

If it does become an all English final in both cups, will that be the first time all 4 finalists will be from the same country?

Has there ever been another time where two English clubs made it to the CL final and another two to the Europa/UEFA final? Can't see Arsenal and Chelsea messing this up now.

Edit: oops, already been asked

At first thought I would think if anyone had done it, it would be Spain. I think the closest is 3 teams, Real, Atletico and Sevilla in 13/14 AND 15/16, but Benifica and Liverpool were Sevilla's opponents. Looking way back in the CL two finalists from the same country is very rare but has happened multiple times since 2000, three times for Spain, once for England, once for Italy and never before then.

As for not seeing Arsenal messing this up... 3-1, terrible away form, away goal for them. Still not that likely but more than possible with the way Arsenal play. We've been awful in so many recent games.

I’m absolutely bricking tonight’s game, won’t be able to watch it as I’m out with a few business clients for a meal.

But I’m just so hoping Arsenal don’t mess it up. Our away form has been so dire this season but I’m hoping we can somehow pull off a win or a draw tonight.

Hopefully Chelsea lose the other semi, I’d feel much better playing Eintracht than Chelsea in the final.
