This isn't the sort of game we should be judged on to be honest. If we'd lost this 5-0 but were playing well in the league I wouldn't be concerned, Madrid will thump better teams than us. It's the fact that we got lucky to beat QPR at the weekend which worries me more.

Edit: Markovic has been unimpressive every time I've seen him. Said at the time that we should have got Konoplyanka, who I've seen a couple of times and reminds me hugely of Arshavin (in his good days!). Markovic just looks brainless.

All said and done Madrid beat bayern 4-0 last year so we're better than them.

I guess we'll find out when they play one. Bayern and Madrid are streets ahead of any other team in it this year. Chelsea may do well because of Mourinho's nouse and their sheer solidity.
