Only chance we have is if Madrid don't come out for the second half. it still wouldn't be certain we'd get level.

Brutal performance from Real. It was always possible that no matter how well we played it still might not be enough and that's proved the case. We've not done too much wrong but they've been too good. It's like the City game at the start of the season only against a side 3x as good.

Hopefully they take their foot off the gas in the second half.
 
Mignolet and Lovren are write offs as far as I'm concerned now. Mignolet was never the type of keeper we should've bought in the first place and has got worse the more we''ve tried to mould him in to the type of keeper we want and Lovren's a complete shambles.

WHen liverpool were on top it's because they were expending too much energy, they were all over Kroos and Modric and not giving them any time, they ran out of energy and aren't even closing them down until they reach the final third. Real haven't been that good, Liverpool are dire defensively and tried a rather stupid tactic that has worked against Arsenal/Spurs but failed against Chelsea/City/other top teams repeatedly.

They try the surprise attack insane tempo first 20-25 minutes against most teams, when they run out of energy at 0-0, the games usually go badly, if they get a goal they often use the tempo and psychological advantage to get more and often a team is beaten 30 mins into a game like Spurs/Arsenal results, when they don't have the lead the opposition generally dominates the rest of the game against a tired Liverpool.
 
Tactics from Madrid have been spot on as well. Attack down the left, get over the half way line and play the ball inside. Johnson doesn't know whether he should stick or twist. If he does play further in field to stop Isco and Marcello then it means more space for Ronaldo on the left.

Very little has come from Madrid on the right and for a good reason
 
In other news apparently we'll have ~15,000 at Lille tomorrow, looking at Twitter the place is swarming with us.
 
Just like to point out regarding that Balotelli shirt swap... did anyone else see Gerrard and Johnson have a little joke with Ronaldo a couple of times. You don't ****ing do that in any football match. They haven't got their heads right at all.
