If Rooney was in it though, I'm sure it would be 'efficiently compact' or something
It was world class movement from Rooney to stay out of the wall and allow it to be that huge.

hahahaha. Ibra pass to Rooney was great there, very narrow space to thread that ball and put him right in. Rooney's pass... utterly abysmal, completely embarrassing, pretty much over hit it by 20 yards.

Once again commentators say nothing when Rooney overhits a pass by half the pitch. It's so obvious.
What I never get is how you can go from being a professional footballer to having the technique and passing of a sunday league punter. You watch charity matches with ex-pros in their late 40s and they can still pass brilliantly. How is Rooney so bad.

Rooney made the only movement he should have been making. It's not genius, it's a basic tactic. One player goes the other pulls back. Everybody does it. Jesus wept
Because he was never good at that, it just seems the entire industry decided he was a brilliant midfielder when he started to lose his touch up front.
It's like school playground selection, the best people up front but if you're not good at that then midfield and if you're not good at that defence and then the kid no one likes in goal.

Well that was appalling. Thought we were on the mend after the weekend but that was as bad as anything under LvG. Mourinho's team selections remain frustratingly clueless at times.
