UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL ... Bayern Munich v Chelsea ... *** Spoilers ***

Sorry for my last post. It just baffles me how someone would like to see their team play nice attacking football over winning trophies. It would be great if they went hand in hand, but they don't always. For all Barcelona's attacking flair, what has it got them this season?

it's not so much "attacking" football as decent football, passing, moving just doing the basics of the game well.

watching the spanish, german and italian leagues, even the low down teams try to play decent football.

Absolutely gutted Cheslea won it.

The team is just full of behave, read the rules. John Terry is an embarrassment to professional football.

After that joke of a FA semi final with the booing of the Hillsbourgh memorial I never want them to win anything again. Unfortunately, since ive felt this they have done that twice! LOL

Uh, you have seen football in the last 4 years?

Chelsea definitely don't play bad football though. Excluding the last two games in the CL they've played some great football, but nearly got punished on several occasions for having an awful defence. Good job they sorted it out really.

Also, it's great holw Bosingwa and his mono-brow is in nearly every celebration picture from that night. Then on the victory bus thing he looks absolutely knackered/hungover.

It was £134.50 (€160), a category 3 ticket on an official club trip. The expensive prices the finals are set by UEFA.

very lucky man then :)
not bad I'd have paid that to see my team win a competition for the first time

how'd you manage to get them? season ticket holder right@?

Final is in Wembley next time....... I think I'm definitely gonna try and go, regardless of who is playing :D

Hope its Chelsea v Man City though, haha

Ok, first video not football but just a feeling what it was like during the day:

They were as valid as bringing Leeds into it. You went first, don't cry about it now.

Err, not really?

Leeds were successful before, despite not playing good football? :p

As 'Clough said "Well, I might as well tell you now. You lot may all be internationals and have won all the domestic honours there are to win under Don Revie. But as far as I'm concerned, the first thing you can do for me is to chuck all your medals and all your caps and all your pots and all your pans into the biggest ****ing dustbin you can find, because you've never won any of them fairly. You've done it all by bloody cheating."

See, at first I thought you were trying to be funny.

Uh, you have seen football in the last 4 years?

Shhh. Didn't they win the Supercup and the FIFA World Club cup thing?

Wasn't there that fact too, that Barcelona won a trophy every 17 games or something under Guardiola?

Good football gets you nowhere. Ignoring all those great teams and sides over the years.

I disagree.

I don't think Chelsea have played 'good' football for a while, certainly not on a consistent basis. Don't get me wrong, they go through patches and play well, but they resort to poor physical football more often then not.

I mentioned it yonks ago, when they got the first result against Barcelona, that they were the new Leeds. iirc it was also the same date that Leeds played Barcelona, opted for a similar tactic and got a result. :)

Well done, a quote from one of Leeds' worst managers.

Would you disagree with what he said?

Leeds were renowned for the dirty tactics and playing poor football, they certainly had some good footballers at the time though.

Clough was an excellent manager, it just didn't work out for him at Leeds. Much like AVB and Chelsea, trying to impose a different style of football on players that couldn't adapt. (I'm not drawing a direct comparison between AVB and Clough)

So Tummy, you would have rather Wednesday stay in League One and play attractive/good football than play bad football and get promoted?
