UEFA Champion's League Final [Bayern Munich v Inter Milan] Sat 22nd May **spoilers**

I don,t know. Mourinho is without a doubt a great coach but the best?

If you look at what he's achieved none of it is that unexpected other than winning the CL with Porto. Most of the sides he's managed have been dominant in their league and had a fair amount of money to spend.

brazil are expected to win every world cup they play in, it doesnt make it happen though.

just because a team is expected to win doesnt mean they will, you still need to be a decent manager to not completely **** things up.

tony mowbray took over at celtic this season for example. everyone thought he was a great manager and he completely ballsed it up and ruined the club. celtic were expected to win the league yet they didnt. in fact this season was one of the worst for them in many many years. being defeated by a team which was in a lower division than them and not even at the top of that division, they were in the middle. it was like chelsea being beaten by darlington this is how big the gap was between the clubs.

im also sure that with porto and inter he has had average amounts of money to spend, just like any manager there would have. he has spent it well though and im sure he will try and take lucio, maicon and cesar with him to madrid if he goes.

You're right that the domestic things he has won have not been altogether miraculous. Success was expected with Chelsea after the cash they splashed, and I could probably manage Inter to another Serie A title, such is their dominance domestically.

However both of his Champions League wins have been tremendously impressive. Winning it with Porto was a real achievement given the lower funds and lesser status of Portuguese football, and this year Inter beat the Spanish Champions, the English Champions and the German Champions to win the CL. Not many fancied them for the title before the tourny and Italian football isn't as good as it was in the 90s, it's definitely not as strong as the English/Spanish leagues.

The only black mark I can see against Mourinho is not managing to do better in the Champs League whilst he was at Chelsea. If he does manage to win it again with another team, and time is definitely in his favour there, his record will be unparallelled.

Depnds how you look at it I guess - at the time of the match Inter werent playing the English Champions (unless you mean .....to be.....)

Small point but none the less worth noting

I don't think Mourinho will success in R.M because RM fan like the sexy football, not defensive football like the way J.M often does. I think Barcelona still the 1st in next at least 2 years

If memory serves me well, Mourinho has never failed at any club, as a manager. When he moves on from a club, the club has always missed his expertise. In terms of averages, he is the most successful manager currently managing and if we use past performance as a guide, RM will be winning the league within the next 2 seasons (providing he completes 2 seasons) and he should be making a decent challenge for the champions league trophy.

Mourinho is a winner and if you want results (not sexy football), then Mourinho would be at the top of the list.

you saying Real Madrid should have appointed Ruud Gullit nonname!? :D
yeah, maybe ;)
