UEFA Champions League Final Man City v Inter Milan ** spoilers ** [Saturday 10th June 2023 @ 8pm]

Your squad argument is correct. It’s no coincidence that our form dropped off when we lost by far and away our best defender and one of the best in the league in Saliba, and replaced him with an absolute walking disaster in Holding.

Same thing happened with us. FA cup final without Martinez, Martial and Antony. We never stood a chance. We have been so poor without Martinez since he was injured it is unreal. Not to mention playing without a striker for most of it.

City being able to bench Walker who has been one of their best players this season and still win the European cup says it all. Alvarez would most likely start for Man Utd and Arsenal too.

Irrelevant, you had a bigger lead at one point than we had this season
maybe, but I dont think anyone has managed to throw an 8 point lead away with 10 games to go and then go on to finish 6 points behind when the season ended - at least Man City actually had to win something ridiculous like 14 games on the bounce to beat us ;)

Well it wasn’t any smaller, we never had a 10 point lead.
Yes, it was smaller :D

I've defended Arsenal against these bottling accusations but trying to compare Arsenal losing the title to Liverpool in 18/19 is mental. City had to win 14 games straight to win the League and we won our last 9 too, picking up the 4th highest points total ever and at the time had only ever been bettered once before.

I don’t give a crap about that. The fact is that season was a normal season without a World Cup and at the end of December, you was 10 points clear of city. A bigger lead than we’ve ever had, and you still managed to lose it. If that’s not a bottle, then neither is Arsenal’s.

I've just checked the PL site and at the end of each match week we were never more than 7 points clear and that was with 19 games to go. You're talking nonsense Rob.
Liverpool did well to throw it away with 3 games to go
A 2 point lead. Straw clutching there woppy.

3 points wasnt it, still quite an achievement to let it “Slip” with 3 games to go

After the final game of 2018, you was 10 points clear of City
So when we played and City played the next day or something similar? On the opening day of the season the team that wins the 12.30 kick-off has a 3 point lead for an hour I suppose :p

Your comparrion is a load of nonsense though.

Apologies, it was still just one result and that was vs the team that were 3rd(ish).

Comparing it to Newcastle blowing a 12 point lead, Utd dropping points to Wigan and West Brom in the final weeks and even Arsenal this season is some stretch.
