UEFA Champions League Final Man City v Inter Milan ** spoilers ** [Saturday 10th June 2023 @ 8pm]

City are a bit like an AI robot winning things, it doesn't really evoke much emotion for most people.

It's a lot worse seeing Liverpool or even Arsenal winning things, nobody really cares about City.

Not the players fault of course, well done to them, they are a very effective side.
The nature of modern football, isn't it. The only way you can win these days is by having obscenely wealthy backers, and pulling the best players away from other teams (on ludicrous salaries).

And then if you aren't winning with all those assets and finances at your disposal, well, you bleddy ought to win, eh.

Seeing Leicester win was genuinely different, but it's hard to get excited these days (as a neutral) when any of the top teams win anything. They're all where they are because they can outspend other teams, and suck away the best talent from the rest.

I don’t agree. Liverpool and Utd are proper clubs. I’d be far happier seeing them win than City.

Nobody will remember this treble unlike 99.

Yep its like when I enable the unlimited money cheat on Football Manager.
As much as the money they have is disgusting, United have bought 5 of the top 10 most expensive players in Premier League history in Lukaku, Maguire, Pogba, Sancho and Antony. Imagine how much more ***** they would’ve bought with the same funds as City.

It’s not that simple.

Liverpool didn’t outspend everyone else the season they won the league, or when they won their last 2 CLs.

United and Chelsea have had some obscene net spends and won nothing some years.

The difference is, City have built towards this over a 15 year period by falsifying revenue streams and they’ll likely get away with it.
