Just back from the pub.
When we went 3-0 down I was pretty downhearted, goals were lucky, but the defending on a couple of them was pretty shocking. We properly missed Huddlestone in the middle, and Palacios still isn't back to his old self. When Huddlestone came on he made a real difference shielding the back four and dictating the play. We barely kept the ball for 3 passes without him on.
Kranjcar made a difference too with some good stuff down the left. Slightly unconvinced with Gio on the wing, he didn't have much to work with, but didn't see much of the attacking intent we saw at the WC.
With 3-2 I'm pretty positive we can go through, we'll stuff 'em at the Lane.
Hudd saved us.
Gio was poor for some reason. Kept losing the ball deep and doing very little in attack.
Bassong was just useless.
Defoe ran himself into the ground.
Pavlyuchenko earned the right to be crap all game.
Modric was being pushed about all over the place.
Bale was solid, but couldn't beat the Spurs supporting RB.
Kranjcar added some driving force into midfield
Palacios was just rubbish.
Keane injected some creativity up front.
BAE was unlucky to have been carded so early for an accidental clip
Corluka was unadventurous but generally solid
Dawson was a mixed bag. Put under a lot of pressure by Bassong's constant mistakes
Gomes could have done better for the offside goal.
Yeah, that's in no order whatsoever. Big whoop. Wanna fight about it?
