UEFA Cup semi-final thread **Spoilers**

Don't understand the comments myself. Rangers had some truly clear cut chances and Whittaker nearly scored a lovely bending shot to the top opposite corner but for a Frey chance.

Fiorentina want to thank themselves they got to Penalties. They had 210 minutes of open play to try and couldn't beat rangers. Then they had a shootout from 12 yards and still couldn't beat Rangers. Fiorentina saw more of the ball, but the more clear cut chances came to Rangers for me. Much like Man Utd over Barcelona.

Rangers have played extremely negatively for most of the European games, they played to their strengths though. My team (St Mirren) among others gets slaughtered for playing the same when we goto Ibrox by the Rangers fans, it would be refreshing for them to come out and say "hell we shouldnt be there if we played the game how it should be", they wont of course, they are delighted they got a result, the same way Saints fans were when we nicked a point from Celtic earlier in the season.

I dont have any problem with teams playing to their Strengths, Walter set out as he did with Scotland to make the team hard to play against, its not pretty, but its very effective.

Posting sober for a change :D

I really think people are underestimating the amount of fans that will be travelling down to Manchester, 2 and half hours down the M74/M6 from Glasgow, well the way I drive anyway ;P. Just about every Rangers supporter in the pub last night were making arrangements to travel down myself included.

I'll say the game itself from a Rangers point of view, was frustrating to watch, but it went to penalties I was semi confident, after all were getting pretty good at penalties. If you had said this was where Rangers would just after Wattie joined back after the Paul LeGuen debacle, I just wouldnt have believed you.

PS anyone offering cheap B&B's post here :D I may need your services...

17 months ago Dunfermline 3 Rangers 0 half time in cup game.

You'd have been offered a straight jacket and padded cell for saying in may 2008 Rangers would be in Uefa Cup Final.

You can play all the fancy football you like and win nothing (Eh Arsenal) Football is results driven its not been pretty but its got the results.

The season of 2002-03 will remain high in the memory of every Celtic fan.

The phrase 'HAVE YOU GOT A TICKET' was on all their lips. This is the story of a typical Celtic family and how it affected them, from the beginning of the season as they followed their heroes all the way to the UEFA Cup final in Seville. Their story is celebrated with songs, laughter and even the odd tear in this show written by award winning playwright Tony Roper.

On Sale Now!!!
im sure this will cheer them up no end :D. W.A.T.P. http://www.paviliontheatre.co.uk/xml/news/news.asp?id=20080219

Its amazing how Celtic and their fans celebrated the failure of Seville. I wonder if Rangers fans will bang on for the same amount of years if they lose in Manchester.

That said, no set of fans know how to celebrate misery as much as Celtic fans.

I would be very surprised if Rangers dont take double what Celtic took to Seville. Its a very easy drive and if you cant get accomodation, its a short drive back on a quiet road at two in the morning.

Half of Scotland should be going!! (exag)

Pretty disgraceful post to be honest, no doubt your family will end up taking tickets for the final away from fans who have been to lots of european games this season, the glory hunters will be out in force.

You watched the game with 7 people of which you reckon they will all go to the final, if you are all from Blantyre, you would be better going to see Hamilton, i guarantee it will be a more rewarding experience in the long run.

Mark, is your face the only part of you thats made of metal?. I have a suspicion your head is made of wood.

It seems the Manchester authorities are refusing to put up big screens and are urging fans without tickets not to come down. I wonder if they really realise what's going to hit them?

PS: Do they sell Buckfast in Manchester? Good opportunity for and entrepreneurial Mancunian there.

The truth always stings a bit, dont worry, when you lose the final, your little glory hunting family will no doubt dissapear again until the next big occasion.

Absolutely, i`m sure they will, unlike your family who....well.....probably don`t know what a cup looks like? ;) . It`s probably something you can all discuss the next time you all gather round a bail of hay.

Speaking of glory hunting, do you recall how many St Mirren "fans" attended the 1987 Scottish Cup final? :D ;)

Silly little joke club that you are. Now run along and go and annoy some Dumbarton fan or whatever village pub team you call your rivals.
