UEFA Euro 2012 - Group C - ** spoilers ** (Croatia, Italy, Rep Ireland, Spain)

Have Croatia really got a chance to qualify?

I cant see it somehow (although I know its mathmatically possible)

They are way better than the Irish, but could still easily be walloped 2/3-0 in their final game

That seems to be the Spain we all remember.. god help England if we don't win our group.

England have to match or better France's result tonight (to start with) to have any chance at winning the group imo , which is going to be a fluke if they manage it lol

Spain were brilliant last night Ireland now with nothing to lose better do better. They did play much better in the qualifiers and seemed to have stage fright last night they did play better against Croatia.

Nothing now to lose against Italy it will be a good game.

Anyone know why all Ireland's games are at 19:45 ? Pity for my son he can't get to watch any of the games :(

Croatia aren't too bad. A draw would be enough for them unless Italy go to town on the Irish.

I can see them getting through.

Its ok guys. Real reason the might Ireland lost was because of fear. Trappatoni can't understand how they did so well in their qualification and yet conceded such soft goals. 14 games unbeaten before the competition. Hmm, maybe you were playing against teams that barely play football in those qualifications matches.

Lets say Croatia are lucky and get a point off Spain (who need at least that to qualify for definite - so its not a dead rubber for them)

If Italy win 2 - 0 against Ireland (and imo Ireland would be lucky if its only 2-0), Italy go through because Croatia conceded in the Croatia /Ireland game dont they?

I dont think it makes much difference though - as Im not sure how Croatia can get a point off Spain (in a "live" match) in the first place

The odds for

Spain 2 - 2 Croatia

have come down dramatically from over 17.0 to a low of 5.0 before recovering to 9.5*. Either money flowed in to reduce the odds, or the market makers got very scared of a fix. Volumes, on betfair at least, suggest the latter.

Now 1-1 is the most likely score according to the odds but 2-2 is the second most likely outcome.

*probably due to assurances from Spain there is no fix.

Yeah when I checked this out earlier 2-2 was the favourite score, I was considering laying it on BF but their odds were much higher (Around 8) probably due to others doing the same.

I've gotta be honest, I can't see Spain taking their foot off the gas and will have a lot of possession, the only way I can see it being 2-2 is if Croatia score 2 goals (hi captain obvious) and the score reaches 2-2 near the end and both teams just play out the game.

In other words, if Croatia reach 2 goals before Spain reach 3 (unlikely), then maybe, otherwise no.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Ireland got something tonight. A draw most probably, can't see them winning

Italy love it when ex managers/players who play in Italy beat them;)

Spain and Italy should qualify tonight, Spain and Croatia might end up as a draw as i still feel Spain are missing Villa very badly. Sure Torres scored a couple against Ireland but that wasnt going to be difficult to score against them was it now?? :p

Italy should beat Rep.Ireland tonight but hopefully the Irish will give the Italians a good run for their money...might even get a result if they are lucky enough.

I'll be boring and go with Spain and Italy tonight, can’t see either getting beaten. Now do I want to watch Italy or see Torres for the first time. Decisions, decisions….
