Surely that would mean beating the Spanish before meeting the Germans?

both of them are on a par for me, very good teams likely to get better and better (especially the Germans, considering how the Spanish move on from Iniesta and Xavi etc in a few years time)

England are doing ok - but even so are overrated at 7th or whatever we are currently

Spain and Germany would be top 2. No need to beat Spain. They pretty much have unassailable lead in ranking points anyway. Like I said the only way England can rise above is if Spain and Germany win no more games and England win all of their games.
