I cannot believe he left Sterling on for 86 minutes, he was terrible from the very 1st minute although Rooney wasn't great I thought he was far from the worst player on the pitch and played half decent.
Rose, Smalling and Cahill were appalling and you could see that it just wasn't working for Kane, I was talking to my mates (Spurs fan and a Everton fan) and they both agreed that as a lone front man Kane needed to 'make it stick' more ala Giroud for France although the service to him was poor.
The press love in is nauseating to say the least, we weren't great against a poor Russian side but with better finishing should've been out of sight by the time they equalised.
That only leaves Barkley then, who's international form is questionable but he should have an opportunity anyhow.
Amazing how in 2 years it's changed for Sterling. Two years ago this forum was spitting fire that he wasn't playing in Rooneys position. Now Vardy is flavour of the week.
2 years ago Sterling was the form player, now it's Vardy. Why is wanting players that are on a high at the moment to play a bad thing?

...and now we have a proven goalscorer that's as fast or faster, and you're complaining that we want him played?
As I recall didn't sterling score some important goals towards the end of that season, or was that the season before?
Everybody knew he was just all pace & no end product. Even during that 'good' season with Sturridge & Suarez.I fear sterling's career will end up going down the same path as Aaron Lennon, started out so promising (spoke of as David Beckhams natural successor) but now everybody has found him out all he has is pace and no end product
