UEFA EURO 2016 Qualifiers ** spoilers ** [3rd - 8th September 2015]

Agree to some extent but if he can play well why can't Barkley or Ox perform against part-timers?

Ox can't perform against anyone and any given player won't play well every game regardless of opposition people have bad games, such is life.

However look at how bad Utd look, or anyone else, when the striker plays utterly woefully, doesn't create space, has a poor touch and can't be played with well. Everyone within 20 yards of Rooney this year seems to have played like ****.

This should be a better match.

I can't help think every time i see David Silva how unstoppable a team like Real or Barca would be with him on the squad.

The Dutch are 1-0 down already after some poor defending. They'll be fourth in the group at this rate.

Are there any highlights of the Wales match anywhere (free to view)? Doesn't look like BBC or ITV have them.

For once I agree with you. We make products for commercial application for England. He looked promising, once, got the big move so Utd pushed him as the head of the team, they put his face on games and kids buy his shirt. At some point Rooney the commercial product and his value FAR surpassed his value as a footballer. Even as his football gets worse and worse years of investment in his commercial value means he's still got his face on products, still on adverts for things linked to Utd and needs to be played for that rather than his footballing ability.

At his best, he was a pretty limited but effective striker, he was never technically gifted, always a dodgy passer. he had power, drive and a decent shot that was about it. He lost his drive 3-4 years ago, his effectiveness has dropped off a cliff.

If he'd been the same player who never left Everton or moved to Spurs for 10mil he'd never have become the product to be pushed by a top team, then wouldn't of happened for England and he'd have been benched a long time ago for England.

As you say media has pretended he's one of the worlds best for years. At one time he looked like he MIGHT become one of the best strikers, at some point in the media this just became IS one of the worlds best strikers but he never actually got there and for 4 years he hasn't looked capable of getting anywhere near worlds best strikers.

Does anyone still rate Rooney? Really? Even down the pub people have been calling him **** for a couple years, now :p

Can't understand the Isreal mentality there, come to shut up shop and get a point ... unless i'm missing something if they had won they could've still qualified. Their players are celebrating like they've just qualified or something, ridiculous.

Extra official has had a nightmare as well, absolute blatant hand ball about 10 yards away from him that should've been a penalty and he doesn't do anything about it. Completely pointless those officials are.

Belgium were looking like a lot of previous England teams last night. Lots of individually great players not working well as a team

The problem I have with Belgium at the moment is they don't play to their strengths. The build up is so slow, with a possession at all costs mentality.

If you look at the 3 attacking midfield/wingers behind Benteke you have so much potential pace with Hazard, De Bruyne, Mirallas and Mertens. Why don't they use it?

In the last world cup when Benteke was injured they had Lukaku up front but he ended getting dropped because he spent every game with his back to goal which he is poor at.

I just don't understand why they have picked that system to play.
