Can't have been the ref's decision as it was quite a while after the event. Madness to give a penalty for that in such a high stakes game though

It wasn't a bad decision, it was just one of those where no-one saw it so everyone was all WTF's happened here.

I think if it hits his hand first maybe but the fact it comes off the players head, I don't understand how that is intentional.

The stakes of the game isnt relevant...whether its a hand ball is...that was so its a penalty.
