It doesn't surprise me - there's swathes of people whose first instinct when they see something horrible unfolding is to whip out their phone and upload it to social media - that it could extend to a director's decisions for live TV coverage isn't much of a reach.

Glad to hear he's stable and in a hospital. Hopefully he makes a full recovery! Surely they'll call the game off now? There's no way either set of players will want to play on after thinking they saw one of their friends collapse like that

Yeah I cant see the match continuing today, as Eriksen looks like he is on the road to recovery from whatever happened (I'm guessing it was a stroke or aneurysm or something) I think the players will want to continue in the tournament but probably with this match being rescheduled for another day, if it can be fit in, failing that I wonder if the 0-0 would just be taken as the final result.

you figure they would just agree to a 0-0 and move on. Cant play tonight and not sure they would want to face off again so soon even if it could be rescheduled for later.

That has me shook. I live in Copenhagen, quite a lot of my Danish neighbours were out on their balconies cheering and then just complete silence followed by quite a lot of people crying. Makes you rethink your priorities seeing and hearing something like that.

In defence of the BBC I don't think they were expecting the cameras to keep showing it, bet they were sorting the studio out (sure the presenters were a mess in the short time after it happened).

Bet they were expecting crowd shots at worse and out side views at best.

Just saw the breaking news and was great to see it was positive, that he has been stabilised. Fingers crossed it remains that way! It will be a shame if he has to retire but at least he'll live to tell the tale.

Its a very humbling thing, here is a guy who is in his 20s, at peak fitness, his health monitored on a daily basis due to being a top footballer, and yet that can just happen out of the blue. Its moments like that where it really does drive home just how fleeting our lives are and how important living in the moment is.

No. But they control the feed. They could’ve shown anything except some guy getting CPR on live tv.

In their defense, they may have been expecting the camera feed they get sent wouldn't just go for the dramatic cut back to the guy getting shocked with a defib.

If I was one of his team mates surrounding him when they got the defib out I wouldn't be playing again in any form of a decent mindset for a long while. Very recently I was listening to a Bolton team player talk about how badly it affected them despite the recovery. Must have be horrific to be a team mate stood there unable to do anything.

I'm disgusted to see that they thought cutting to the guy having CPR and a defib, and then his GF crying her eyes out was a good idea. Absolutely mortified they showed that.

Glad he's stable at the moment, can't see him playing football professionally again, luckily he is close to football retirement age.

I'm sure one of the options on the table will be pulling out of the tournament.
