4. He probably sticks Maguire in there, even though we haven't conceded yet and he won't be match fit

Have a feeling Tripier and Walker will come back in also.

What I'd like to see is Kane Grealish Foden and sancho upfront and Henderson + Bellingham DM if he insists on playing 2.

Its stupid. He bases the team around Kane but then starves him of any service. Doesn't help that captain Kane doesn't actually do anything either so all we end up with is stale movement back to the keeper.
 
You can tell he's worried about the defence as Sterling and Mount do work hard and track back. I think that is probably why he isn't trusting Grealish or Sancho even though they would be much more effective going forward imo.

The goalscorer bit was tongue in cheek but don't forget Denmark and Sweden got away with this the Euros not that long ago, played out a 2-2 draw with naff all happening in the last 10mins. The way it would manifest itself I think is if the scores are tied near the end of the game I can see neither team desperate to over-extend and leave themselves exposed at the back.

You have to score at some point and we aren't exactly a rock at the back. Scotland could have easily beaten us if they had a better striker or took their chances a little better. Our strength is in our attacking players. We have one of the best out and out strikers in the world, we have quality left and right wingers and we have cracking players in midfield. The weakest area is defence and thats what he seems to care most about at the expense of attacking.

Southgate has never been good enough but its hard to find a good manager who is willing to only have about 10 games to worry about in a year.
 
Mount and Chilwell look to be out of the England game after coming into contact with Billy Gilmour who has tested positive for COVID.

I imagine Chilwell wasn't going to play anyway so no big loss, but who comes in for Mount? Henderson would be my first choice if he's fit, Grealish is a shout too but I doubt Southgate will go that attacking.

How are no scotland players having to isolate either :confused:

Hendo, Bellingham, Grealish or even put Foden there and play a different winger. It’s not the end of the world.

UEFA ask for the GPS data off the players they all wear GPS trackers during the game and training anyone whose been in contact for 15 minutes will have to isolate

i wonder if chilwell/mount/gilmour were chilling out together having a chinwag before the game about chelsea etc seems coincidental they are all chelsea players
