Edit: Maybe not mistimed, but it did look like a pretty dangerous challenge.

How is it any worse than if you only go in with one foot showing though? the reason two footed tackles used to be automatic reds is because players would often launch themselves off the ground when doing it and if they made contact with a players leg you have a players full body weight going into the impact which could easily break legs.

I suppose the bar for red has lowered now but it still didn't look that bad to me.
