Not having that red card for Wilson, it was a lazy frustrated 'tackle' (foul) that should have got a yellow but it wasn't particularly dangerous, I think the ref just decided he was going to come down hard on a deliberate foul without really considering the severity of the actual foul.

I dont have an issue with a red being given there. The games long gone at 3-0 90mins and Wales dont have a chance at doing through. The danes are on the break and he slides in from behind cynically to stop the move. He's got no eyes for the ball and is just taking the man out. It's not needed, it's a **** move really and was probably more for a screw you than trying to prevent any goal.

That's how i would read it anyway. If you do that in the middle of a 0-0 game you're getting a yellow but do it in the dying minutes of a thrashing you're just being a ***** trying to cause trouble or injury.

I've argued for ages that these challenges need to start seeing red. Its soft to some but I dont see it any different to an off the ball incident. He isnt going for the ball and his only intention was to hurt the opposition.

Savage and co call it a "tactical foul" then dedicate radio time to the "Simulation game" calling out dives. Both are cheating, only one is going to hurt the other player.

I also think deliberate fouls which arent simply pulling the player back needs to be looked at. You clatter into the player deliberately then that is creating danger deliberately.

In a game with your friends you'd be taking issue with that.
