UEFA Euro 2020 Round of 16 ** spoilers ** [26th - 29th June 2021]

Who is out of control, the guy clearing the ball or the guy sprinting in who doesn't get the ball?

I feel like we're just punishing players for clearing the ball now, we had that red in the league earlier this season where a player cleared the ball and then the attacker ran into him.

It doesn’t have to be a tackle to qualify as dangerous play

No of course not, but you are using the adage of "above the ankle" relating to tackles. Its not a tackle.

Are goals scored by a volley high and dangerous then? The foot is above the ankle after all.

Can’t believe people are arguing about that red card

Quite.

The ball was at the height his foot was. What was he supposed to do after legally kicking it clear. Yes it looks horrific but it wasn't a foul.

If he’d just whacked the side of his leg or it wasn’t planted we might not have been talking about it but as soon as the ref sees that guys leg bending the wrong way on the replay and him being rekt, it’s always going to be a red.

People have got sent off before for legit tackles that have unfortunately taken the opposing player to snap city.

So I can run full tilt at someone with next to no chance of getting possession, and the other party has a duty of care to make sure his foot is clear of my poor decision making.

Come off it.
