no BBC let's you watch from the beginning so long as the broadcast hasn't ended when you start playing it. You can also therefore rewind and re-watch say a tackle, or goal or whatever.

The annoying thing is you can't then fast speed to catch up which annoys me. Why not let a late-comer 1.5x or 2x speed watch until rejoining the live feed? This obsession with "it must be 1x speed" does my nut. Same with Amazon. I don't care let it be my choice. Documentaries on 1.5x are great and it can be the difference between watching a whole programme during the commute or having to chop off 10-15 minutes (which then doesn't fill the next journey) etc.

Oh but it's an art form and needs to be viewed that way... rubbish. It's up to me if I want to try and watch a bit more in the limited TV watching time I have available. You'd actually get me watching more of your content as a result. Which is better for their viewing figures?

Ah man, I think I'm going to have to settle for watching it live from 30 minutes in...
Glad I don't pay for ITV. Paying for something and just getting what you're given is not fun.

Is that the 90s calling?

Streaming is just too far behind and isn't up to it yet. Sure it is great for what it is but much rather watch live broadcasts through sat/cable. I have 4K TV's and I am pretty sure my series X does all the apps 4k but 1080 is fine for me and it is actually all live. Not a minute behind.

The amount of times I have watched games only for notifications to tell me the score before it happens takes away from the experience.

yeah and the standard channels are all available both as standard feed and HD feed on freeview which works fine for me over the aerial. Not sure if the HD needs the web connection to as the box is connected to both but it works well however it's doing it.

May I ask why? I have 5 TV's in the house. Would hate to be fighting over one screen with the missus and kids

Just don't have much interest in most stuff shown on TV any more just dip in the odd TV series or the odd movie. In fact mostly watch stuff on YouTube now. Everyone else in the house has their own setup.

If anything going backwards :( previous to 2020 fair amount of stuff on Amazon Prime, etc. was "1080HD" and at least looked like good quality 720p - now most stuff just looks like 360-480p with blocky blacks and lots of compression artefacts - usually using COVID as an excuse for reduce bitrate :(

I am not talking about quality. I am purely talking about being live. When I have watched Champions League games I have to watch through BT Sport app as I do not have sky. My notifications on Google and Man Utd app would go off a minute before the actual goal would happen. I ended up turning them off as it was getting frustrating.

Like using the forum while watching the ITV livestream then? I'd be watching the kick off and the forum is raving about the goals that just happened. For those of you still buffering...

Match latest: Denmark 1 England 0, Dolberg, (Maehle assist) 15 minutes.

uh-oh I just realised, the last England game shown on ITV was Scotland right? Every other England game has been BBC SFAIK?

We're going out folks. The curse of ITV will strike again. We always seem to do badly when it's shown on ITV.

Not predicting anything tonight. It could go either way and I wouldn't be surprised. I guess that's an improvement from being surprised when England win, tho :p

Even if the game was on BBC where I can watch in UHD I'd watch the aerial broadcast, simply because I don't want surprises ruined when I hear the whole street cheer :D

Only game I've watched so far with significant lag was the Spain vs Italy one where I was a good 2 minutes behind for some reason no matter what. The rest of the games streaming lag has been couple of seconds max.
