Betfair are saying that from leaked reports Saka is back in the starting XI replacing Sancho, rest is the same.

Think all the other matches they’ve been correct so it’s probably likely!
let's see what happens then. So long as Sancho and Grealish are on the bench if Saka starts. Has Chilwell made the bench for the last few games? I can see him doing well against their back line tonight if called upon.

edits - typoed the names before.

I've never seen or heard this be an issue for anyone I know in real life. I'm sure there's a few loons on Twitter, as there always is, but I don't think this is an actual issue for the vast vast vast majority of people.

That was the odd folk I was referring to when the discussion began earlier. It's not just on Twitter though as there are a couple of posters here who can't stand anything a bit too English it seems. Happy to see their team lose because it would upset the yobbish fans in the country but many nations have those and some far worse than ours in this day and age. I just can't see Italian's and other overtly patriotic nations having a similar mindset to their national sides results because of a small section of their fan base.

The focus can't just be on the football itself as they've exhausted their negative mindset on that so they turn to other reasons a loss would be a "win".

Be proud of england, be PROUD!!!
Exactly. Football is an inclusive sport.

I'd be surprised if it isn't:

Pickford
Walker, Stones, Maguire, Shaw
Rice, Philips
Mount
Saka, Kane, Sterling

Let's do this :)

I think this is 99% guaranteed to be the team. Very cautious and reserved and then if we go down a goal he might start to be a little more proactive.

From what I saw Denmark seemed to like to defend deep and attack on the break, so this makes sense as long as we don't press too high and leave ourselves vulnerable to a fast break. Walker's pace should help there. I do wonder whether Grealish might help pull their back line out of shape a bit more, but maybe that's the 2nd half mix-up, especially if they're starting to tire. I would hope we'd trying to get a decent lead in the 1st half however.

I have ITV Hub on Fire TV Stick but can't find a way to pause it. I won't be able to watch the match until 30 minutes in but was hoping to keep it paused to watch from start. Anyone managed to do this?

You want Grealish sitting behind the front three? Mount is far better there than anyone else in the side for me.
or was he being sarcastic at my comment? I couldn't tell

Rice and Phillips are good at breaking up play and running the midfield, but don't create as much. With the well drilled defense of Denmark would Grealish be better than Mount in that position? Possibly not, but they bring different aspects to proceeedings. Grealish as a swap for Saka? Makes sense. If Mount needs to go off? Grealish or Foden seem the obvious contenders. I do wonder though if Grealish and Saka simultaneously coming from different sides could cause their defence some problems, Grealish drawing people in, Saka getting behind etc. Problem is that starts to mean dropping Kane or Sterling if the back 4 and central 2DM are to be retained.

I don't envy Gareth, but he's done ok so far (Scotland excepted) so let's see what he comes up for this one. They'll have better analysis and research than I can dream of to help inform their decision too.

So what is everyone planning to do this evening, watching with mates, down pub etc?

I’ll be watching with family, ordering some food and some snacks.

Even my mum has gotten right into it :)

ITV is it... well, win lose or draw, at least I don't have to listen to Jenas for 90 mins :p

you can pause for short time, but not v long. It tries to lock to the broadcast signal from my limited experience with it on live broadcasts. Thank goodness for PVRs.

Home with some beers and pizza. Not going out to the pub. Not sure how to watch it since we don't have a TV. May have to be the radio or a reaction stream at worse :(
