UEFA Euro 2024 Quarter Finals ** spoilers ** [5th - 6th July 2024]

My predictions are:

Spain 2 - 1 Germany
France 1 - 0 Portugal
Netherlands 2 - 1 Turkey
Switzerland 1 - 0 England

2 scorelines correct
3 winners correct - England getting lucky and ruining prediction

Although it was much better performance for England, hampered by Southgate's management

No. Good Player does not equal good coach. De did well at Derby for one season and has done nothing to suggest he would make a good international coach

He took Chelsea to Champions League qualification with a transfer ban and kept Everton up from relegation. Fat Frank is useless yeah but he is magnitudes less useless than Gareth who hasn't managed club football for a decade and half.

I think people need to be realistic about who is going to want the England job. Top managers don't really take international jobs. The best we're going to get is someone towards the end of their career who wants something different or a younger manager who hasn't got a big opportunity yet.

Its usually just older managers or ones who want a change. You don't tend to get up and coming ones because its a hiding to nothing. You spend little time with the the players. Half the time you are playing against sunday league teams and then you have a few games every couple of years that really matter.

Unfortunately the best you can hope for is an older manager usually. Germany getting Nagelsmann is very unusual. Whats ridiculous is that Southgate is paid like an elite PL manager despite basically working part time and being utterly out of his depth.

When have the FA ever got it right? Southgate wont get a top job after he leaves, he will end somewhere like Everton.

After last night performance, I feel kinda of resigned to the fact that the performances are never going to be any good under Southgate, there is literally no chance. He's such a reactive manager, there are no tactical proactive changes in game with him.

His tenure has been carried by moments of individual brilliance from the players he's lucky to have, moments that have dug him out of huge holes.

England have technically been on the easier side of the draw (yes I know its not easy in the sense that all the teams are there for a reason and you can only beat wha ts put in front of you). However alkl England have done is basically park the bus, Pickford is probably the player with the highest number of touches for games considering that they managed to work it all the way back to him from a corner on multiple occasions over multiple games.

Playing that kind of negative football against a team that can properly open you up like a tin of baked beans will end up in tears and the only reason it hasn't happened so far is becuase England got lucky in the draw. No doubt you will beat Holland, probably on pens after another boring 1-1 or no score draw and you will probably end up wining if you play France again by the same route. I guess a win is a win at the end of the day......................

I think it comes down to the Spain Vs France game.

If France somehow win, England stand a good chance in final.

I don't see England beating Spain though
