So it seems the ref for the England v Ned match is one Bellingham got fined for, when playing in Germany, when he referenced the referee's previous ban for taking money off another ref for match fixing.

They had to add a bit of drama to an England game, the previous ones having been complete snoozefests.

The reason for that though, is because we kept finishing second in the groups in that era, so we kept getting difficult teams in the 2nd round etc.

We also had tougher groups backs then though.

England have never beaten a top 10 ranking team in tournament football under Southgate despite regular runs to quarters semi and even a final so they’ve definitely had the easy draws.

Oh anyone suggesting Southgate hasn't been sacrificing some goats to get these draws is smoking something. Probably the most quality we have had in the side in my lifetime and by far the easiest paths through competitions I remember. Theres no excuse for not getting through to the final again.
