UEFA Euro 2024 Warm Ups & Friendlies ** spoilers ** [3rd - 11th June 2024]

Watched the second half. Pretty dull but not surprising. Trent and Kane made a real difference when they came on. Thought Gallagher was ok too, the rest much of a muchness. BBC report raving a bit about Grealish's cameo, I just don't see it with him.

Well he got an assist for the 2nd goal and had a hand in the third. I think he usually plays well for England - far more attacking than the neutral/decoy role he seems to play for City. Much more like his old Villa self for England - I would take him but its Southgate so who knows.

Probably far too busy finding places for the crocked Shaw and Maguire and the 15 holding midfielders he will want to play to worry about the attack.

Huge amount of positive reaction for Wharton after that game.
He was very good. Whether he's good enough to deserve a spot in the squad, given the other options, is questionable. I expect that if he does go, he's along for the ride only and wouldn't get on the pitch except in a dead rubber. If that's all we're bringing him for, I'd prefer us to bring an extra attacking player, as we have so many options there. But he's impressive - excited for his future.

Right back against weaker sides, second pivot against stronger sides for me.
He was awful in the middle of the park Gallagher was playing by himself most the game till Wharton came on

I was at this match and yeh it was awful to say the least apart from the few runs from Palmer and Eze directly at the defence

I wouldn't have him in midfield except alongside Rice. Despite being a defender, Trent is certainly not a defensive midfielder. But his quality on the ball is huge.

What he offers off the ball is zero to none dare I say it he's not much different to what James ward prowse offers but at least he puts a foot in when needed

having foden Palmer and rice is adequate for defence splitting passes

Using trent as right wing back is the way forward then least he'll have kyle walker playing right cb to cover him all the time

I have seen a lot of things on this forum but comparing Trent, who has arguably the best range of passing in the world, to James Ward Prowse is just laughable and right up there. Trent is up there with the likes of KDB with the ball at his feet.

It is madness, but i believe he said 'off the ball', which is still bonkers as he ranks extremely high in areas such as ball recoveries etc
