The situation seems very fluid i.e Russians running away from Ukrainian attacks. This is the link from Oliver Carroll's twitter post above run through Google Translate:

Lots of updates but here are few standouts@

UPDATED AT 12:08 p.m. The "Kahovka" military training center also noted that the occupiers in the Kherson region were cut off from the supply of weapons and personnel from the territory of Crimea.

"Big and terrible HIMARS destroyed almost all the big bridges (Antonivsky railway, road and Novokakhovsky). Only pedestrian crossings remain. For Ukraine, this is a brilliant chance to return its territories," say the military.

UPDATED AT 1:18 p.m. According to "Dumska", our troops are advancing in at least two directions in the direction of Kherson.

Head of the United Coordination Press Center of the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine, Nataliya Gumenyuk, confirmed this information. According to her, "offensive actions are being carried out in many directions in the south of Ukraine."

UPDATED AT 1:27 p.m. The offensive is developing from the west and north. According to our data, Ukrainian troops have just liberated another village.

UPDATED AT 1:54 p.m. Oleksiy Matsulevych, the deputy head of the military administration of the Odesa district, officially announced that the fighting for Kherson had begun.

Guess we are going to see this repeatedly for the next few months.

Ammo depots blown up, major transport links blown up, command centers blown up, then a switch to the units and an offensive begins.

With no answer to the Himars its just a matter of time until Ukraine has all its territory back.

The question is, how long, if at all, will it be until Russia calls for a general withdrawal?

They either need general withdrawal or they need general mobilisation.

I wonder how they will spin any defeat/withdrawal to their population? Are Russians really going to buy the 'goodwill gesture' if they lost all that land west of the Dinpro river?

They just say whatever they want and at least some of their populace seem to lap it up, even if others disbelieve it.

It's like a parody film or something, apparently they've destroyed 160/20 himars so far.

As the Russians have been attacking in Kherson for the last few weeks and gaining land...I'd probably wait for the maps.
The last Ukrainian 'major offensive' didn't do jack.
Another Vysokopillia (those were great posts)...or just more misdirection to divert from the Donbas?

Russians tried to blow up the Ingul Bridge in mykolaiv in response to the Kherson offensive.

Interesting to see conflicting reports from Russian troops and officials regarding Kherson.

Russian troops retreating and stating they are under heavy fire, and that the city could fall, whereas some Russian officials and higher ups report that the offensive has failed on all 5 axis.

AFAIK heavier equipment got moved back out of range of HIMARS, which might be why some are talking of retreats, but they are still contesting with lighter forces. Not seen much in the way of any permanent territory changes in days it has been either back and forth changes in some bits or stalled on both sides in others.

EDIT: Supposedly Russia has been moving hardened observation posts and other fortification infrastructure into Kherson suggesting they are trying to solidify existing lines.

Big country with big resources this could be for a while.
