I was not talking about proxy wars in the ME, just the support we give them including equipment that is used for torture.

The Ukraine war is not a genocidal war, you should look up the appropriate definition. In WW2 the Russians lost between 16-17.5 million civilians due to it being a genocidal war, Ukraine is nowhere near that figure(on a pro rata time basis)

It is genocidal when it appears all Russia wants to do is lob missiles into cities and destroy energy infrastructure. Unimpeded the death toll of civilians could be massive. The intent alone means that Putin must be defeated.

That is not a definition of genocide. The British bombing of Germany in WW2 is closer to genocide as bomber Harris is on record as saying he was targetting civilians to hamper the German war effort.

Defining attacking key infrastructure (such as power plants/ water supply) in Ukraine as genocide opens up a huge can of worms for everyone in future.

Well Russia ain't bombing these targets not to hamper the war effort. And indiscriminate bombing of civilians is genocidal whoever does it IMO.

How do you define the abduction of thousands of women and children and the execution of their husbands as not being genocide?

Did we do that in the war?

We called abduction, Internment during the war.
We also had forced evacuations… including children. It’s not a secret.
What do you think happened to all the Germans after the borders moved?

Summary executions are considered war crimes.
Happens in all wars. Australia in Afghanistan just the latest.
Christ add in the sheer size and scope of the fighting and previous history of sharing a common Empire. Not surprised there’s bad blood.

It’s a **** show.

Attacking energy infrastructure is about as basic a strategic war aim that there is.
It doesn’t become genocidal because baddies do it too.
You know that the Geneva convention came after WW2 right?

What happened before is irrelevant and it is widely regarded as a war crime to target something that mostly affects civilians such that their life is in danger. Don't bother trying to say that Kerch Bridge isn't a legitimate target because it was, all bridges are.

Now for why people are calling it genocide... because the Russians are literally saying so.

The Gulf war. Carbon filaments.
Is that modern enough?

You don’t have to invent arguments about bridges for me.

This was the the UK City insuring Russian ships I take it. The EU banned it but the UK did not.

Maybe or maybe not. It still does not answer why Europe continued to pour billions into Russia's war coffers all through summer and autumn. The UK did stop in June from a very low level. The EU earns no brownie points here either.

Assuming we've actually stopped and not obfuscated it like a good chunk of the finance industry's business. How do we know that we aren't just loading/unloading in the middle of the ocean?
