I think I'd have be more comfortable if it was actually US taking it out than Russia, at least then it wouldnt have been an act of aggression towards the west and the US were acting in our interests. The flipside is that Russia did it and we let an intentional act of aggression toward the west slip... Sadly I still believe that Russia are still more likely to be self destructive to try and skew the narrative.

I don't believe any claims without proof. I think it's more likely that Russia did it as part of their web of deception.

US doing it is less likely, but also not impossible, they're just better at the deception game than Russia is, who tend to make outrageous claims.

To some degree, almost anyone could have done it.
