To put the Russian losses into a bit of context, in the Russian Afghanistan war which lasted 9 years, they lost 15,000 troops with 30,000 wounded. Over the two Chechen wars, that lasted around 3-4 yrs in total they lost 14,000 men.

A year into the Ukranian conflict and they have lost upwards of 130,000 troops.

I appreciate its a totally different type of conflict with a much more difficult calibre of defense, but the difference is quite staggering and must be quite a shock to the upper echelons, no matter the bravado they put on.

I am amused by the trigger.
Russia has to refuse totally its right to Ukraine or the Donbass.
That premise continues war and profit for a lot of people.
So afghanistan and Iraq could have ended by america ending hostility and surrendering. And no further war would happen and all the people would be okay and the money that was being made supplying the war on terror would have stopped......
Russia has no right to Ukraine you fruitloop

Russia has no right to either Ukraine or Donbass, and no legal standing to make such a claim.

That premise continues war and profit for a lot of people.

No, that premise precludes any justification for Russia's war. If Russia doesn't want the war to continue and people to profit from it, Russia should end the war.

US diplomat says the new Russian offensive is "very pathetic"

Ukrainians are dying and have been dying and are still dying. They are fighting our war. They are dying for us.

I've seen things falling out the back end of a male cow that are more factual than this particular absurdity.

The Ukrainians are fighting for their own country, their own soil, their own culture, and their own people. That's not our war, they are not dying for us; they are dying for their country.

Civilians in Bakhmut told to evacuate 'immediately' as Russia accused of sending rockets into residential area

Before the war, Bakhmut had a population of around 70,000 people.
The eastern Ukrainian city has been a key target for Russia's forces and has faced months of assaults, causing much of its population to flee.
But around 6,000 civilians still remain in the city, according to a Ukrainian official.
"To be honest, I am very surprised by what 6,000 civilians are still doing there," Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk wrote on Telegram.
"I appeal to civilians now in Bakhmut - if you are practical, law-abiding and patriotic citizens, you must evacuate immediately."

I am also bemused and amused at how people are triggered into telling me exactly how this war is no different from that war?

I wonder about that .

I wonder about someone typing English as if it's a second language, trying to preach acceptance of Russia and claiming to be one of "us".

Is this thread really so big that it's getting targeted by stooges :p

So Russian military bases in the world. You can google them too.
Is it reasonable to allow missile defence and EU as well as NATO defence to park up right on your border?
Bear in mind they or them seem to already have encircled your territory.
This is quite possibly open to an actual nuclear exchange. I am amazed at people who still think ther4e is good guys and bad guys and actually willing to let decisions of expendable targets into the hands of politicians playing a game of chess.

As with another (former) poster in this thread, the spelling and grammar is very odd.

Surely any actual people posting propaganda would just use something like chat GP to write it for them?

EdIt: though I suppose grammar could still be off if it's translating.
