Iran are buying SU35 and S400/500 from Russia.

In exchange for iran sending russia as much 100mm ammunition as it has, for Russia's t-55 tanks

Think about that, a country that claimed it has essentially unlimited ammunition through decades of preparations for war with the USA, is now begging iran for 100mm ammo so it can use the t-55 as mobile artillery because they've run out of 120, 125 and 155mm ammunition. They also have a lack of replacement barrels for their artillery

The UK arrests loads of people over social media posts though, you're not even against that. It's fair enough to criticise Russia if you're some free speech advocate, except you aren't
Come on pal. There's a difference if I for example call our PM a rubbish politician. But if I actively call for them to be harmed, i.e inciting violence or make a statement that actively encourages breaking a law there is a difference.

Again freedom of speech isn't freedom from consequences of what I say.

Tell me last time someone who was anti any government was locked away for thier political views.

We arrest a lot of people for really stupid things. I'd love if we had stronger free speech laws, but we don't. People get arrested for retweeting something that caused someone anxiety.

It's good people are calling out Russia, Putin is a gangster, but hold our government to the same standards if you actually value free speech.

How many get given 25 year Siberian gulag sentences for criticising rishi sunak?

I'll wait while you tally your sources from your ass

A major disinformation and Russian propaganda channel called "Donbass Devushka", which published a fake version of "secret Pentagon documents," is hosted by a former U.S. Navy officer who was recently discharged from military service.

I guess she's going to enjoy some maximum security prison for the rest of her life.

Watched an interesting video about siberian gulags - the prisoners are driven there over 1000 miles of dirt track, if they die on the way they die.

No government is perfect and they do an awful lot of stupid things but anyone who’d draw any kind of parity between what the Russian government does to journalists and what happens here in some weird nonsensical whataboutary is either:
A, trolling
B, paid shill
C, needs a rethink.

Edit: a little less harsh

You realise by arresting people for speech in the UK, we simply open ourselves up for appeals of hypocrisy from countries like Russia when ever we try and criticise them?

Of course Russia is worse, but if you want to convince the Russian population that Putin is bad, then we can't be seen to be arresting people for social media posts.

First the T14, then the SU57

Now it's the Lada

According to Russian TASS media; the Lada class submarine will be scraped. It is Russia's newest class of submarine and they claimed they'd build 12 of them. They built one that has been in operation for 10 years and they have been trying to fix all the issues with it. They have now giving up, citing technical challenges and high costs. The submarine will be taken apart and no further Lada submarines are planned
Lada class submarines..... I wonder if it comes with grab handles so the sailors can get out pull it along in full scuba gear when it breaks down at the bottom of the ocean?

Are you an absolutist on this point?

That anyone should be able to say absolutely anything at all without any consequences whatsoever?

No, not an absolutist. The bar should be very high though. I don't support overt racism or calling for Jews to be killed or anything ridiculous, along with obvious ones like fire in a crowded building etc. Sharing an edgy meme shouldn't mean getting a visit from the Police though. Russia isn't doing that ironically.
