We arrest a lot of people for really stupid things. I'd love if we had stronger free speech laws, but we don't. People get arrested for retweeting something that caused someone anxiety.

It's good people are calling out Russia, Putin is a gangster, but hold our government to the same standards if you actually value free speech.

Didn't realise the monarchy was in charge nowadays !

Learn something new every day.

Nice apples and pears there though, one group was heckling being a nuisance the other just was a political campaign that went against the 'ruling ' party.

The Monarchy plays an essential role in governing Britain, you may have heard of the term "Royal assent". I guess you did learn something new.

Egypt planned to build and sell ammunition to Russia, USA found out because they know everything and gave Egypt a talking to. Now Egypt build and supplies ammunition to Ukraine instead of Russia

I can already see the pro Russians like Roar will be seething and froathing at the mouth

I hate Russians, I play online games against them so you know I'm not lying about that

Thank you for demonstrating you dont understand the law in the uk

Yup. It is utter nonsense, as what people are arrested for in the UK is nothing related to this, and especially not political suppression.

Things I take issue with are for example: When a party conference heckler was arrested under anti-terrorism laws, and the introduction of 3000+ new laws over the past few decades that are then abused... But again....zero to do with political suppression and suppression of truth in Russia.

Royal Assent is the Monarch's agreement that is required to make a Bill into an Act of Parliament. While the Monarch has the right to refuse Royal Assent, nowadays this does not happen; the last such occasion was in 1708, and Royal Assent is regarded today as a formality.

Was going to say, pretty sure there was a civil war over the monarch over reaching vs the people - and for 10 years, the UK was a commenwealth

In exchange for iran sending russia as much 100mm ammunition as it has, for Russia's t-55 tanks

Think about that, a country that claimed it has essentially unlimited ammunition through decades of preparations for war with the USA, is now begging iran for 100mm ammo so it can use the t-55 as mobile artillery because they've run out of 120, 125 and 155mm ammunition. They also have a lack of replacement barrels for their artillery

I remember reading about Russia’s tribulations back when they had spare barrels last year. They weren’t lasting anywhere near as long as they were specced to do, and they were warping with the heat of repeated firing. Apparently the spare barrels they had in their stockpiles had been fabricated by a company owned by one of Putin’s client billionaires, and they’d been made out of a much lower grade of steel than specified, with the discrepancy between the cost of manufacture and the price they were sold to the Russian MoD being pocketed, meaning gunners were quoted as saying the warping issue was so bad that firing these guns at a target more than just a few kilometres away would result in the rounds landing 100’s of metres from their intended target.

Clutching at straws here you very much are hmmm, seems you know your foundations are built on jelly.

Tell me how many bills and laws the monarchy have rejected from parliament ? Or how many they themselves have put through and came to pass in the past 100 years .

I think my actual point was if we arrest people for simply heckling a Monarch then perhaps the UK isn't some bastion of free expression. The Monarchy has a role in government, though obviously King Charles isn't Henry the 8th.

25 years for a differing political view and how many years did these protesters get ? My guess is zero.

I think a similar story for the tanks - been a few instances of 30mm cannon fire able to go through the armour on T-72s, etc. though I'd caveat that there are some instances of T-72B3s shrugging off smaller stuff and taking 6-7+ hits from heavy stuff to disable/destroy them. But wouldn't surprise me if quite a few Russian tanks have sub-standard steel and possibly even wood pulp used for the composite layers.
