Seems the media can’t quite make up its mind. Literally this morning GMTV were banging on about war, turned it over to BBC and they said Russia is now withdrawing troops.
It’s rather boring to be honest.

Ok? I'm not sure what you're trying to say here, that you're annoyed things haven't escalated quickly? That the media can't read the mind of Putin? Do you not understand the situation?

Russia may be withdrawing troops, but they’re not withdrawing equipment. Indeed, evidence suggests they’re moving even more towards the border.

A source being false once doesn't mean it will always be false and can never be trusted, just the same as a source being correct doesn't mean it can never be false

What would Russia do differently if they were going to attack? Since you seem to be sure that nothing is going to happen, tell the rest of us what preparation for an invasion would actually look like.
No idea fella but I do remember the same rhetoric when Russia annexed Crimea. I remember reports of huge numbers of soldiers and equipment at the border of Ukraine, signalling an imminent invasion. It never happened.
See what I do is I take it with a pinch of salt until it’s not. I don’t hang on to every word of media or government sources or reporting. They lost me at Iraq now I take them as liars until proven otherwise.

Not convinced this is over as much as I'd like it to be; Russian diplomat saying that they insist on NATO publicly refusing to ever take in Ukraine; its not going to happen.

"Anexing" territory is exactly the the kind of thing you do with a military buildup.
The fact that Russia took another country's territory by force would seem to vindicate the news leading up to that event.
More importantly, this is exactly what preperation for an attack looks like. Putin is pointing a loaded gun at a target with his finger on the trigger. If he decides not to pull the trigger, that doesn't make the reported intensity of the threat inaccurate.
A military buildup of this magnitude is not a "pinch of salt" sort of thing.
The fact that you can't imagine a plausible difference between this and what should be taken seriously, should make you think twice about your salt-pinching calibration.
Russia are looking after their own interests no different to what America do or us. Everyone is oblivious they think anything Russia does is the definition of evil yet if we do it it’s for freedom and democracy. Get real.
If Russia was going to invade, relax. No amount of news watching or forum posting is going change anything. If they were going to do it then they’d do it. They would’ve known the consequences for and against beforehand, contrary to belief they are run by the same kinds of people. Politicians, military strategists, analysts etc. Clever people like we would have.
The Media/Government just needs to report the facts not speculate on potential invasion dates etc. It’s embarrassing.
So far Russia has troops and assets at the border. They claim training exercises, so that’s what it is until it’s not. Simple.
