he was taking women and kids out of the conflict zones where fight was heavy as far as im awarePeople smuggler?
If it was him? Still a big IF! Then thats what confuses me and causes skepticism! I can only guess if the narrative is indeed correct and this was indeed Ukrainian SF, it must have been a smash and dash, in and out job. Not there to hold ground just disrupt and cause mayhem.
I remember the order that all conscripts must shave, and they do seem to shave before they surrender. (except the tiktok army).
This: "Since Gerasimov took direct command in Ukraine earlier this month, officers have been tasked with clamping down on uniform irregularities, travel in civilian vehicles, the use of mobile phones and nonstandard haircuts, according to the British Defense Ministry."
Its irrelevant whether he shaved or not, he was armed and could obviously perceived as a threat.I remember the order that all conscripts must shave, and they do seem to shave before they surrender. (except the tiktok army).

Ukraine's air force is going to be outnumbered whatever happens so we should give the UAF whatever it needs to have a technological edge over Russian combat jets. I can't see any point in spending months and months on training up pilots and techniciations only to kneecap them by giving them planes that are no better then what the Russian's are fielding.Looks like the AIM-120 AMRAAM's Ukraine will receive is the C8 variant. They carry a 20kg warhead and have an air to air target range of 160km.
The US is also buying more of these missiles for itself, just as a stop gap as AMRAAM is coming to the end of its life. The US Is developing its replacement, called the AIM-260 JATM. Ukraine will not receive JATM anytime soon as it's specifically designed to be used with the F-35 and F-22. JATM has a range of >200km and travels at >Mach 5 but exact specs are classified

Tbh, I wonder if Ukraine should post pone it's counter offense until it can establish air superiority or would that be overstating the effectiveness of the Russian air force?

Provided the Republicans don't elect Trump Ukraine should be alright either way and at this stage Trump is a busted flush IMO. Ron DeSantis seems like an early favorite but he's been sitting on the fence when it comes to Ukraine, I like to think he wants to support them but is worried about alienating fatigued Trump voters who he is counting on (he'll have to make up his mind at some point otherwise he'll get splinters in bum). The thing that really concerns me, which I have mentioned before is the outcome of the US election.
Let's be frank here. Without their support the conflict would be unsolvable.
I may be wrong of course, but it does strike me this way.

Tbf the UK has never had a large ground army, being an island nation the priority has been on the navy. When Britain entered the into WW1 in the BEF was only 200k as that's all we had at the time, it was only through a patriotic enlistment drive and latter on conscription we got he numbers upto 2m.Except the UK - the Army is now smaller than in 1760
