People are either ignorant or unaware of the fact Russia also invaded Poland when Germany invaded. They had also invaded Finland.

The western allies saw them as useful idiots. More of a “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” kind of thing.

As far as the west helping Russia defeat the Germans, Russia had stopped the Germans at Moscow in Nov 1941, before the USA had entered the war. Once the USA entered the war against Germany, AND Germany had failed to rapidly defeat the soviets, their defeat was pretty much a case of when and not if.

Things might (emphasis on MIGHT) have played out differently in Europe if Hitler hadn't shown a Putin like level of tactical brilliance in his decision to declare war on the US.

No idea how true this is

Ukraine sends machine-gun mounted robots to frontline to wipe out Russian cannon fodder

Kyiv is using experimental ground robots equipped with machine guns in the front line against Russian forces, potentially protecting Ukrainian fighters with no end to the war in sight.

Outfitted with a machine gun, or robotic combat turret, it's intended to assault enemy spots, carry out recon missions, and offer fire support, according to Fedorov. It can allegedly move at a brisk pace of up to 12 miles per hour.

The Ukrainian minister, Fedorov, said that they control the robots from a safe place to keep their soldiers out of harm's way. He had mentioned before that they were testing 25 different types of combat robots made in Ukraine.

Samuel Bendett from the Center for Naval Analyses explained that both Russia and Ukraine are making these unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) to take over from humans in very risky attacks.

Thinking about the GLSDB, it may just outright replace the GMLRS. The range is far greater and it could cost half as much, I think more than a couple of countries will look at its performance and wonder if the 110k per GMLRS is worth it.

If we go back to this map from a year ago, you can see just how much occupied land it will be able to hit. Potentially cheap and plentiful, now all they need is accurate date to use them.

It's possibly my favourite film scene. Why it was cut from the original theatrical release I'll never understand.

There is an argument that it makes the aliens less scary if they can be stopped, even if only temporarily, but personally it is one of my favourite bits and in many ways accomplishes the opposite because they only stall them. It is a great section there with them around the table as well, some really great world and character building.

Nice, the M-84AV is basically a T-72 with an upgrade package from the 1980s, which has had extra upgrades bolted on since then. (Not to be confused with the T-84, an evolution of the Ukrainian T-80 which is essentially the final boss form of the Soviet T-series tanks).

Obviously the M-84 would normally be completely outclassed by anything fielded by a modern army, but luckily they're being sent to fight Russia :p

The film was cut as it was deemed too long for the theatres so it needed to be shortened to fit in another daily showing. Or so the rumour had it
There was also the fact that a standard VHS cassette holds two hours of NTSC SP footage, and so if you wanted to release a film with a length of greater than two hours then you had to use multiple tapes which increased box size and cost. As a result of this many movies were cut down to two hours to ensure the theatrical release wasn't overly different/better than the home release (No I don't know why they didn't just switch to using longer tapes as E-240 could hold nearly three hours and were in production by the early eighties).
