Mate, Europe couldn't even produce enough munitions to take on Libya never mind Russia, the whole reason the USA had to get involved there was because we were running dry and Gaddafi hadn't been overthrown yet lol.
My guess is Moscow believe they supplied him with the windows he used to kill himself >.>

Worth noting that under the 1991 borders Crimea was an autonomous self governing region and it's government free to do whatever the people wanted, that didn't change until 1994 (IIRC) when Kiev sent in the army to take control after Crimea held a referendum in which it's citizens were to have dual Ukrainian/Russian citizenship.
So by saying 1991 specifically, he deliberately isn't arguing against the annexation as that would have been permissible under the pre-94 Crimean constitution.
It's worth noting that the idea of Russia under Navalny was a possibility that only ever existed in the minds of some westerners. At no point at any time was he ever one of the most popular politicians/personalities in Russia, the only reason he broke into the top ten was because more popular guys like Zhirinovsky and Prigozhin died.

Was he running against Zelenskyy? Was he one of uncountable others? No he was starting trouble, had the chance to leave and gave it up, continuing to break the law. Any decent person with common sense wouldn’t have acted the way he did.

Admittedly grasping at straws, but wouldn't it be great if this all turned out to be a bluff. For example Ukraine has a secret stockpile of shells at the ready and the Russians are fooled into thinking that now is the time to launch their big push...

One perhaps cynical silver lining to Navalny's inevitable demise is that certain countries can no longer sit on the fence pretending Russia can join the civilised world *COUGH*FRANCE&GERMANY*COUGH* so we can finally move forward from that stupidity and fully embrace total belligerence.

Not sure I'd label Germany in with France, they have thrown the most at Ukraine in Europe I believe.
