reported? now your just being ridiculous....il think your find throughout this thread i have given helpful advice, so much so that it has caused ocuk to check their stocks which i would hope would have avoided a few complaints of mis-advertising & wasted money/resources in returned cards - money ocuk would have lost.
I have also directly contacted the manufacturer regarding the waterblocks that people were asking about which i posted above.

so havent got a clue? seems im doing more in this thread thats helpful then your wild accusations and dumbfounded claims.

Guys getting desperate before the price goes up any more... Can anyone tell me what device ID this card has?

Looking for either 0x6898 or 0x6899.

Help much appreciated from anyone with these cards!

To summarise.

Gibbo said the batch is a mixture of the the two versions.

Red Version:
+ Quieter
+ Cooler
- May use more power than the standard version (read review for the powercolor pcs+ version)
- Non reference design so waterblocks wont fit it

Standard Version (Black)
+ Waterblocks will fit
+ May use less power than the Red version
- Hotter
- Louder

Pot luck as to which one you get.
I still ordered one though as they're dirt cheap, good warrenty and it'll be a while until you can get this amount of performance per pound again.
 
I see... Ideally I'd like the red version but am in an odd situation in that my new wife uses Mac, I use both but game under windows and I'm trying to combine the two in one pc... Ala hackintosh.

The windows side of things is fine but to make my life much much easier I need a card that has the above ID settings, other wise Christmas may well be filled with swearing!

Saying that am thinking of ordering one on the chance, but knowing my luck will get the wrong one!

ahhhh. I Just realised I didn't answer your question! I just thought that you wanted to know which card you would get and the differences!

Good luck with that. You could get your wife to use Windows instead of a Mac? Unless she needs specific Mac programs.

Although more confirmations on the red being 6898 like the black would put my mind at rest, ever the pessimist I'm afraid!
 
mine arrived at last lol , it looks the same cooler as the powercolor 5870 pcs+ . but the heatpipes are all 6mm where as the pcs+ has 2x 8mm and 2x 6mm , seems these use the same cooler has the powercolor 5830 pcs+ (4x 6mm heatpipes) but the shroud is red on this vtx 5870 but still keeps it cool .

looking at the pic below it looks like that one in the pic has 2x 8mm and 2x 6mm , can anybody confirm this please

Sorry if the info is in here already (I can't see it) but can anyone confirm the lengths of both the versions being shipped.

I am very tempted to order one (and have my wife's blessing :)) but I need to fit it in a Storm Scout without cutting the bays.
