Likewise looking forward to release next week. Played all the series since the very first championship manager and the demo really impressed me this time around. Nice level of polish. Will be downloading the new 50000 facepack on day one as I like to have the proper portraits. Wonder what that steam bonus is that is mentioned in the release day patch.

Is that not the Sega Megadrive collections 1 & 2, I got them when I preordered, and they are pretty good, if you like your retro gaming!
I'm not sure, that's already in place so would seem odd to mention it as a bonus in the release day patch

Dealing with it in the next couple of weeks , that definitely sounds to me like its something extra for steam versions which is yet to come rather than the sega games

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, I think FM11 is a very, very good piece of work from SI. I think FM08 is the current "best" of the FM series from SI but I think FM11 will take that crown.
Apparently the 'dark' FM skin will also be in the patch. I find this interestingly weird as Miles talks about changes happening in football after the game went gold, or mastered, hence the Liverpool ownership change needed. But why is the dark skin being supplied in the patch and not with Steam or on DVD? There's always been two skins hasn't there so why release one through the patch?
Id guess the skin thing is a feedback issue from the demo, I did find the initial interface a little bright and cold (bad words for uninviting) and I assume they wern't 100% if default choice on the issue was needed in the release game...
I take it as good news, just as im lazy and adding my own skins feels like hard work (and distracting me from winning the league!)

I would have to agree actually.
This is a great deal for me already, as I love retro stuff (I already have 3 megadrives with 50games, 2snes with 30games + others!).
It *could* be the latest sega megadrive collection, this makes sense as it is sega who is giving it away.
Whatever it is, I'm looking forward to FM11 so anything will be bonus.

My preorder price had dropped to £17.99 (Amazon always send you their cheapest pre order price) and then it's all changed round again to £25.
Actually quite bugged me as I was really pleased about them dropping it to sub £20.

Im guessing with their preorder thing its just an estimate and not an actual price (so they dont charge you till its actually sent at a price) could be mistaken though..

My thinking is that because they don't charge you until they despatch the product the price you 'pre-ordered' at isn't guaranteed to be the final price so they can probably change the price around right until the product is available.

Game is already out in those dodgy scurvy filled lands... apparently a Russian shop sold early or something and there is a big hoo-har on the SI forums about it. God knows why they ship it out there early.
Anyway I had hoped it would prompt SI to jst say, sell it to all stores and I recall they did with an old FM when somewhere in Europe was blantently selling so all stores just did!
Almost my 20th Anniversary of the game, started back with the original then 92/93 real names, then the obvious CMs on the Amiga including the Italia updates (all of which are classics even with the notorious bugs).
Then on the PC the CM2s finishing up with the majestical 97/98 & then the CM3s which culminated in the brilliance of 01/02 my most played game ever, an absolute joy. CM4s hmmm not my favorites, you could see that it was the start of what was to come though as we moved onto the FMs with 05, again probably not coming upto such a great standard until 09 and then 10.
Ive waffled but im hoping for big things from 11 again, the only annoyance is getting a tactic sorted so I can chug through the seasons the old school way; no graphics, just text on super fast speed

Just spent an hour reading about this, seems like a massive mess! (also appreciating the lack of swearing here too as some of the internet are getting very into the piracy debate...)
