Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End

What about the truck scene chase? that was brilliant!

Having played three and two before jumping into 4 I have to agree that the set pieces are boring, I mean yeah the first time you get one its intense but rinse and repeat thirty times later they are just boring. I swear two felt like one run down corridor, shoot bad guys, do a jump set piece and get thrown around, rinse and repeat.

Four isn't too bad at the moment and I am enjoying the game but I'm not blown away by it, the graphics aren't that great....I mean I was expecting to be blown away by some of the posts I've read here/GAF/twitter etc, I mean yeah the long distant views are good but up close its nothing on a level above other games. I mean in my opinion ROTTR was just as good looking.

I was underwhelmed by the graphics but later in the game the graphics seemed to look much better.

I think I'm just about to reach that part of the game (just done the towers and now following pirate markers).

The vistas are beautiful I'll admit but up close and personal they aren't as mind blowing as I was expecting.

You said ROTTR looked just as good.

And really, anybody who can't appreciate how ridiculously good this game looks has no idea what they're looking at.

How can you say it doesn't when you haven't played it?

I've played both.

How you can say it's the best looking game ever made right after saying things about player models is a bit crazy.

Maybe I used the term of "not that great" wrongly, but there are times it's not the best looking game ever, it's just not consistently amazing, and reading people's responses to it raised the bar so high in my expectations that they weren't met. One example that jumps out to me in contrast of amazing screenshots posted is how bad Drakes hair looks sometimes, it's like laughably bad compared to those screenshots at times, when I go on later I will take a screenshot to highlight it in case you can't see it.

Having played both I do think ROTTR is just as good in parts, just like in parts Uncharted 4 is very good.

I'm getting the impression you're getting a little personally offended by my thoughts so let me say that yes it is a very good looking game, but it's not mind blowing like I thought it would be all the way through, that's what I was expecting from reading posts online like yours.

See what I mean about the hair? I feel like you guys think i am nitpicking, but people have literally praised this game to the hilt for the visuals and I don't see it all the time.

I am not saying it's a bad game, it's not by any means, I am really enjoying it.

I await the inevtiable, well any screenshot can make the game look bad rebuttals.

Just finished it.

Great game, best of the series for me, loved every minute of it.

Nice send off for Drake. Feel sad that it's over. Wonder what they will do with the DLC.

Could be either a Sam and Victor level or even the daughter.

Nobody said the game was absolutely impeccable and never had a bad angle throughout the entire 15-20 hours of playtime. EVERY game will. So yes, it's not hard to purposefully find a bad screenshot to represent a game in a somewhat false fashion. It also looks you're running with the brightness turned way up. :/

So yes, you're absolutely nitpicking when the game looks downright unrivaled(on any platform, including PC) the majority of the time.

I didn't say anyone did say that but you did say it was the best looking game ever made and even that to someone who hasn't played the game sets a benchmark in their head, but from how people were reacting to the graphics you expect quality at every turn. A false fashion? Lol OK mate, i pressed photo mode, spun the camera round and hit share.

Im nitpicking now? I give up, you seem to be taking my answers on a personal level and seem personally invested in the criticism and unable to have a logical conversation because of that, so I'm sorry I offended you Neil, you're game is good and CAN be beautiful, but people built up my expectations so much online I was disappointed when I finally saw some of the graphics myself.

Edit: 06/06/2016 - Tell me what brightness/visual settings I should set for the optimal viewing and I will revist that area to see if it's better.

IMO, it's still the most visually polished and detailed game to date, especially considering it has to run on a glorified toaster. And the story and writing is not bad at all for the genre, properly enjoyable and a very fitting conclusion to the series.

Have you tried shooting those little rocks in Scotland?:p

What?
