Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End

Completed, found the latter chapters very samey and almost like a remastered original uncharted (like they were trying for the nostalgia effect).

A lot of the larger areas with the jeep were rather pointless as the areas had literally nothing going on in them. Tomb Raider's environments feel so much more alive!

The set pieces, barring the bike chase are a lot weaker than 2 & 3, which was also a bit disappointing.

All in all, it comes across as a nostalgic tech demo rather than a blockbuster uncharted game. Cex are still offering £35 so think I might trade it in for a profit quick as there's zilch replayability really.

Oh and the final boss is essentially a QTE! Doh!

Not sure how the final chapters felt the same...they are completely different and the environments are stunning.

You keep comparing this to Tomb Raider, you clearly have an obsession with thaf game which just clouds everything. What Tomb Raider lacks is a decent story, lead character, atmosphere and well likeable characters....Uncharted has them in spades. The little nods to other, older titles, the quirky chats between the characters the way it takes the mickey out of itself etc all add to the atmosphere...Tomb Raider has nothing of that and isnt in the same league.

If i were you id go back to playing Tomb Raider and its dull and forgettable story.

Bloody hell, that looks lush. I don't think I'm near there at all, around chapter 3 atm.

Wait until you hit Chapter 12 and 17. Mouth, floor = huge puddle.

The game must be doing so well that he has to tear it down.

I love how these 3 - 4 chapters start off behind that huge bizarre cliff like a hook and you keep seeing it the closer you get while making your way around the other side.

Does anyone have somewhat feelings similar to Crysis/Far Cry? I absolutely adore how many caves, caverns, rocky pieces, foliage, mossy rocks, fountains that there are. Oh and the amount of wildlife and dandelions floating about. Whatever is disturbed.

Absolutely stunning game so far (upto chapter 11). Narrative, gfx, music and characters are all 1st class. GOTY for me at this point in time, and there have been some very strong releases this year!

2 and 3 never had zombies. Well, 3 had Batman Begins possessed people with puma sounds, or rather hallucinations.

Are we playing a game or just following a story? If you think story > gameplay then you should be watching a film instead.

Ah yes, a section of the game where you literally spend 30mins just walking about an empty area, picking up the odd bottle or letter to look at. Thrilling

And then you have to push a box around to climb over a wall, then pull a pillar down to get in a lift repeatedly. Wooo!

Uncharted 2 and 3 were substantially better gameplay wise. The game retreads old ground and it's easy to see why so many of the team left during it's development.

There's genre of games that do that.
In this game it didn't seem out of place at all.

That's fine when there is "stuff" going on in the environments, animals wandering around, side quests to complete, weather effects beyond sunny and clear sky. Big areas in this didn't have.

It worked for TLoU because that was far smaller in scale. As an example with the first jeep section in U4, there is no reason to explore the area as it's completely dead. Not a NPC / creature / collectible in sight.
