Uncharted 4 and Lost Legacy on PC - mid-2022

It's truly realistic :p

Also something else that's real... the 5+GB of data the collection leaves behind deep within Windows after you uninstall the game. This should NOT be a thing in 2022 and is very annoying. I would not have spotted it had I not been doing one of my random SpaceSniffer browsings:

Anyone else who has completed and uninstalled the game should check their folders too and delete that crap.

Have you used Windows??

Redundant files are a feature, not a bug :D

Seriously, one of my pet peeves is the volume of wasted storage used by Windows and Windows applications - nothing ever cleans up after itself and for someone with OCD that started off computing on non-Windows/DOS computers it drives me crazy.

Rant aside, that's impressively sloppy work by Sony there

I'm guessing it's Iron Galaxy's doing not Sony, since they were in charge of the port! But yeah either way it's lazy++:p

Other apps do the same too of course, but for apps I tend to manually trawl Space Sniffer if I ever uninstall something (rare as I only install stuff I use). Games however come and go regularly, so you expect a level of housekeeping from them!

@mrk so just picked this up on members market for £15. Fancied some more HDR goodness and wanted to see what you was on about. I mean when I had it on PS4 Pro I did not find it boring or anything, just very on rails and had other games to play so moved on. So happy to try again for £15 :D

The lighting does something I didn't notice before, even though it's not raytraced, the GI and bounce is nice and dynamic, the way the torch light bouncing off a coloured surface creates illumination of that colour on surrounding walls is really cool. This is the kind of feature that Cyberpunk has but only with RT turned on. Quite the attention to detail has gone into this engine with things like this.

The Last of Us on PS3 also did this, I remember seeing it the first time in the subway area with the light bouncing off the tiled walls, although the effect is certainly much more convincing here.

3 hours in and this game is as I remember, essentially an interactive film

If the story was not good then it would essentially be rubbish.

What is it apart from the story and graphics that appeal to people?

I will still play and complete it as the story is decent. But it is not much of a game, at least so far.

A mix of everything, the gameplay is linear yes, but so are plenty of other games, it's the story and just enjoying the different set locations that made it fun and because the first games were so good back in the day on PS3 that I had fond memories of.

Were the PS3 ones better orr same thing? :p

Yea, I will play the game for the story and as you say locations and graphics, because gameplay is bloody boring imo.

I kinda like that from time to time as I don't always want a challenge; it's done well in this game. :)

I am playing this together with Doom Eternal. I think it will work out as you say. When I fancy something chilled I will play this.

But I may consider just playing the sequel on youtube :p

The PS3 versions were good for their time, but obviously resolution and graphics can only go so far on old hardware.

Doom Eternal got tedious really quick, but Prodeus was immensely more satisfying. Especially as an old skool arena shooter gamer.

I got bored of Doom Eternal real quick on release, but enjoying much more now on this monitor.

I am not doing any of the optional stuff. Just going from check point to check point killing stuff. The graphics are better than I remember also. Probably again the OLED monitor though. They did add RT also. I get 144fps maxed out with ease, no DLSS either :D

I generally enjoyed it, especially with getting two games in the package. I got it cheap, so that has probably helped my opinion. The story and pace worked quite well and I didn't find myself getting bored along the way. The game also played well, which can't be said for a lot of modern titles.

Recently completed this and I have to say is probably one of the best of in the series.
Yep! When you've done the previous 3 and the build up plot wise to this, it's immense! And who doesn't like pirate islands haha!

I love how well acted that scene is with Elaina saying about him lying to her. You really felt that and by that point have come to care about the characters a lot/believe it!

2 is probably tied the best with 4, but I think 4 probably beats it not just due to next gen just is slightly better, having said that 3 is amazing and adds so much depth to his past like 4 did with the flashback bits...

From start to finish it was like a roller coaster ride for me and playing the game with a decent pair of headphones elevated the experience further. The production values are among the highest I've seen in the game. Definitely naughty dog in their element.
