Uncharted 4 and Lost Legacy on PC - mid-2022

dood... it's a game for lazy people who can't press more than 2 buttons at the same time....

low IQ gamers surely love these titles, as will anyone who wants gameplay from 2002

What difficulty are you on? It certainly doesn't sound like you're on the hardest because end of Chapter 10 and further in does become quite hard with the amount of mobs on the hardest difficulty.

As for low IQ, I remember a long section for a steam/psn trophy you were supposed to stealth chapter 13 - 15 or 16 I think it was. Try that on the hardest difficulty with the long distance of saved checkpoints.

The Jesus puzzle where you put the crosses in the light to open the door was a bit of faff. It's not that i could not work it out, it's that I just cba with faff unless the puzzle is actually practical like in Tome Raider games lol - Moving some wall cogs to align crosses is just faff to my eyes!

Other than that, enjoying the story unfold, bit like a feature length movie and visually it's nice to look at too. I wish there was more ammo in the better guns as you plod along, some of the guns like the sniper rifle you pick up from an enemy are really satisfying to use and you can twitch snipe with it too as it's so quick to respond and scope then go back into cover from oncoming fire.

I have had one CTD so far, just completely random. Not had that up until yesterday so maybe it's from a recent patch update or something?

There's also a trophy for that. Trials and Tribulations. Solve the first trial in Scotland in 10 moves or less.

Another very hard one there was, Ghost in the Cemetery. Get through Scotland cemetery combat encounter without killing or being seen.

See that's where I have no real interest lol. if a trophy is achieved whilst playing a section normally, then cool, but I tend to not go out of my way to achieve a trophy. I find it a bit of faff seeing the green badge waiting notifications

I tend to not go out of my way to get trophies lol, Cyberpunk almost all the trophies were achieved purely by chance that I was doing missions and exploring and just happened to get them. The last few that remain I cba to go back and do :p

I guess I just like to immerse in the story and be in for the ride, if trophies happen along the way, then that's cool.

Yeah but trophy hunting is fun after you've completed it all. As I was the type that liked to go after the stuff or Platinum after everything else was done. Plus it was another challenge.

Is there anything else in this game apart from lengthy cinematics interspersed with a bit of jumping around and the odd bit of shooting but I am not sure on the last bit?

This game has way too many non interactive cut scenes! I know it was a Playstation title designed around the limitations of that platform.....but geez its more of that than actual game!

On Chapter 12 as of just now, have to say once you get to these later chapters the tediousness is replaced by exploration and awesome cinematic moments. I've been gripped the last whole chapter alone and the scenery is pretty cool to just look at, even in the city when getting to the clock tower, the market bit felt "alive" and the gunfights were involving rather than just mashing buttons. I died a few times because I was hiding too long in one area or underestimated how relentless enemies are.

The chase scene where you catch up to Sam and have to hop between vehicles was tense and I had to redo that a number of times but it was fun.

Edit*
Oh yeah I had a CTD again too after about an hour of playtime, went right back in for another hour and no problems. This makes it the 2nd time since starting the game I have experienced a CTD. The game pops up a crash submit box that goes to the devs so am assuming it's some bug in the game that happens randomly. Thankfully it saves often so resumed where I left off.

Never played the older Uncharted games as I haven't own a PlayStation since the PS2 was new so this game is my first time playing and I really enjoyed it, I prefer games that have story driven content so this game suits me great. For an older game it looked amazing, great visuals and I really enjoyed the story. No CTD or stability issues, absolutely rock solid from start to finish on the main game.

Almost done with Lost Legacy and no issues so far in that as well. Really wish Sony would port the older games over but I doubt that will ever happen. Don't know what it is with Sony compared to other game companies, but their PC ports are far more stable than PC games from studios that have been making PC games a very long time, all of Sony's recent ports for me have been crash free while having rock solid smooth performance.

The lighting does something I didn't notice before, even though it's not raytraced, the GI and bounce is nice and dynamic, the way the torch light bouncing off a coloured surface creates illumination of that colour on surrounding walls is really cool. This is the kind of feature that Cyberpunk has but only with RT turned on. Quite the attention to detail has gone into this engine with things like this.

And these sorts of drop kills are very satisfying :D

No idea how much longer I have left but on chapter 17 and it doesn't feel like I'm near the end yet.

I got bored with it after half an hour - yeah I know that's not long but it seems to me that a game should grip you from the outset. Is it worth sticking with ?

30mins barely even scratches the intro chapters lol. At least 5-6 chapters before things get moving and come chapter 10, all is in full swing.

So finally seen some DLSS shimmering in this now, similar to what I saw on water in some areas of Plague Tale 2:

And came across an area that bumped up the CPU usage to around 44%, looks like when loads of foliage are blowing in the wind, the CPU is handling that computation, framerate dropped here to 100fps from the 120 cap. Quite pleased that the GPU is in the mid 70s and the GPU fans are spinning at mid rpms so not really too loud. Seems to be a nicely optimised engine for sure.

What are you using to record these clips and make them as GIFs?

I record using Geforce Experience (native res, 80Mbps video rate) - Then just trim the video down using Photoshop and saving as a gif, the save for web settings I use in PS are:

Do note, you should have lots of RAM for doing this sort of thing as PS will use it, else you'll be polling to page file which will result in slowness during processing.
