Underage Tatoos

both the tattooist and the mother are to blame. Although legally the tattooist is wholly responsible and if you wanted to grind your axe through courts that's the only party you can use.

But, IMHO if you're just upset with the fact that the child got a tatoo I would hold the mother to account.

Do you really want to go down that road? what's done is done, the kid is 16.5 year old. He would have probably made the same dumb choice 1.5 years later and there is nothing you could have said about it.

Kids are ******s, if they have one parent that lets them roam free and one which disciplines them correctly and wants them to amount to something, they go to the one which lets them do as they want.

Being a parent is about more than being your kids friend, sometimes you've gotta play the bad guy, and if the other parent refuses to do so it turns the kid against you and screws up the situation.

Just saying.

My gf is a teacher and she tells me that kids from single parent homes are really difficul to handle. Usually when their boys who are raised by a single mum, the just get to do whatever the hell they want I suppose.

Well heres some interesting information you should know.

The legal age in the UK is 18 with or without parental consent...

The boy may have just walked in and he might not have been ID checked... and the off chance got away with it..

The police cant do nothing if you ring them, they will pass you onto the Council and its health side which will chase it up and look into it.. if they are operating legally they will need a certificate to carry out tattooing for the shop and any artists in there.. if they do have that then the off chance that they have messed up and not ID'd the boy and his got away with it..
To best honest I dont know what happens next after this situation as never have came across it! slap on the wrist maybe off the council? or it could be a solicitor's job

Talk about a load of crap.

Coming from this exact situation, raised by single mum from about 3 i know EVERY teacher i have ever met would disagree with this. I'm actually very good friends with some of my secondary and university lecturers.

I'm with dfarrall there. Doesn't matter what situation those who raise you are in, it's the way they raise you that matters. Single parents can easily do a better job than two parents who don't give a flying..

I'm not against tattoo's, but go see the mother and get boxing stance to prove anger.

All I see is the OP trying to force his ideals on his kid.

Maybe you should actually ask your son, did he want the tattoo? Does he like it?

Surely thats all that matters. Oh and as others have said, the only thing that will happen is the tattooist (if its a registered shop and not just a kitchen tattoo) will claim to have been shown a (fake) ID, and get a 50 quid fine.

Trouble is he's a child and can't make that choice for himself.

Same reason consensual sex with a minor is still rape even if they wanted it.

Extreme example I know but logical.

some of these new age piercing today like the massive earlobe disc things I can imagine would not regenrate though.................

Stretchs go back if upto 8mm, anything over doesnt go back, unless you have an operation to remove the lobe, which ive seen done plenty.

guy did this near us. a individual then went into the shop beat the tattooist and was told to leave shut down the shop. next day he was gone.

some of the work he did on people was terrible . :(
