The GF has typically emptied the recycle bin with files she needs:rolleyes:. whats the best way to get them back? can i get them back for her?

thanks

Make sure you don't carry on using that PC until you've tried to get the files bac - as every time it writes to the HDD it makes deleted files harder to recover.

There are programs available on the net... google it... but most will cost you.

i have googled it. as there are so many i thought it might be worth asking more knowledgable people here who might have actually been through this process before, instead of trying dodgy freeware which could potentially ruin her pc:confused:

you no what it is, im not been funny here but everyone who i have hear saying that it has never been important enough to be this bothed. i have had people saying my music was in their or my non winning lottery results document e.t.c and not one person has had something to be ov value.

it comes down to lazyness with the people i have dealt with and they needed to face the facts so i asked them how important it was. they said not that important but it would be nice to save my time typing up the document again!

there are recovery tools out there though that can do the recovery of files, however is it really that important?

I've used GetDataBack a few years ago, worked pretty well, hope you get some where

I used GetDataBack a few years ago on my brothers PC, however some of the files it recovered were corrupt. It didn't give any warnings and didn't tell me that some files may be corrupt/incomplete, so when my brother came to use those files they simply would not load :(

I still happilly recommend Active undelete. It's not free (but is pretty cheap I guess). Saved my ass 2/3 times so far.

I've used this one before, works quite well, especially when recovering a file that was recently deleted: http://www.piriform.com/recuva

This program is great for the above.

In my previous job, a guy used to store his first draft etc in the recycle bin

After running a system cleanup on their machine, he went ballistic, I just laughed and said "don't lose"

-then used recuva :D
