Unigine Heaven 4 benchmark

HD7970 Windforce 3X 3072MB @ Core 1200 / Memory 1600
i5 3570k @4.5GHz

Well My rig just had it's arse kicked...

I am assuming this is pretty poor for a 7970? My max monitor resolution is actually 1680 x 1050 also but I ran it at the settings required :)

Running everything at stock clocks. Asus AI and Steam were running in the background -forgot to close them down, but I don't think they affect the score by much at all.

If you re run @1680 x 1050 (using the other settings) I will start a new section for you.

You also need to turn off your integrated graphics for this as well.

Could you post the shot of your results in front of the cobble stones to get on the score please.

I'll do that next time I' have some minutes to run the benchmark, however I see the results here mostly are for 1920x1080, and my screen native resolution is 1920x1200, so my result won't be directly comparable anyhow :)

I'm gonna try to do my 690 if I have time today. I'm not going to overclock for the first run, but will do if I find out what the best OC'ing program to use for my 690 is?

Kaapstad any input?

Either EVGA Precision X or MSI Afterburner, I prefer MSI AB personally and I believe most others do too :)

Yes you need to run

Mode = 1920*1080 8*AA Fullscreen
Preset = Custom
Quality = Ultra
Tessellation = Extreme

To get on the scoreboard

If you do a run it will be nice to get another 3 way sli score on the board.

A good place to start is the ref GTX 680 stock clocks (1006/1502) and slowly increase from there.

Make sure you set the power target (%) to 135%

Memory on the 690 tends to oc higher than the 680 (iirc its not the same stuff as the 680 uses)

Thanks for that. Needed a good starting point. Know very little on overclocking a 690:)

I have never owned a 680 but I think its near enough the same, the one thing to watch out for is that you have got 2 cores and it is very easy to put an oc on one of them and not sinc the other one (which means they both run at the speed of the slower one and no oc).

So how should I go about it then?

I use Asus GPU tweak and all I have to do is set the clocks for gpu and mem, click apply and then click sync all cards.

I have not used other oc software but I think it will be very similar.

At the moment where you have been using a single GPU the option to sync will not be there.

just ran my test
This is the best i can get out of my card it wont go any higher on MSI!
Sapphire 7950 OC cooler but not OC edition
Voltage
power limit 20%
Core clock 1100
Memory 1575
