United States Grand Prix 2013, Austin - Race 18/19

Pick the most burried hidden part of the gearbox, ask the FIA permission to check it as you feel it may be damaged. Strip the entire gearbox down and find nothing wrong, but get a free rebuild. Repeat for the next 4 races.

Your opinion means sod all in this isntance. Your opin ion does not overide f1 rules.

Want the rules changed, fine. But to say they're going against the spirit of the rule, or cheating etc. is just utter bs.

Its not routine maintance. They have to show the fia they think something is wrong, before being allowed to open it up.

You seem to think your opinion overrules others.

And who's said anyone cheated? We are complaining about the FIAs inconsistent and full of holes rules.

Haha, my opinion has nothing to do with it. F1 rules is whats in discusion. No opinions about it.

You siad against the spirit of the rule, thats just bs.

I've never accused RB of cheating.

I'm entitled to an opinion, and I'll post it on a discussion forum if I wish to.

Your opinions wrong. The rules is quite clear. If you dont know it or missubderstood thats your fualt not F1.
The rules allow you to open and change many parts, with out penalty. It really is as simple as that.

The rules are there, they followed the rules. Yet you think its wrong.

I didnt. I hate the "spirit" of the rules argument as much as you do.

But surely you can see the problem to casual fans. Gearboxes are sealed, they must last 5 races, and parc ferme means the teams can't change them or their settings. Yet then they read that Marussia and RBR broke the seals and replaced parts and didn't get a penalty? Its confusing.

Marussia changed 3 sets of gear pairs in Bianchis car. That's significant maintenance.

Yeah, I do.

My opinion doesn't equal the rule. How many more ways to you want me to say that?

That's the correct way to pronounce it. Vs in German are pronounced like Fs in English.

Its the fans problem and tv presenters. F1 is complicated and there's nothing you can do to realistically simplify it.
Even though sky presenters went over the rules, people ignored that and picked up on a comment by one single presenter and ran with that. Even though they discussed the rules and showed the FIA letter long enough for everyone to read.
